I was kinda hoping to hear anything about the Miracelman legal situation.
That has been going on for far too long and I'd like to see Gaiman finish Book 5 and 6 before I forsake this mortal world.

I'm glad to see him leave the numbering alone. It's amazing to see the book nearing in on Issue #200 when some of the other Image founders have restarted the numbering multiple times.

This "interview" was really nothing but hot air and little detail. Spawn is no longer a major book and hasn't been. Bringing Image founders onto the book won't make a difference because none of them can write except Larsen. Maybe Jim Lee art would have an impact but that's not going to happen.
Meanwhile Spawn as an other media property is dead in the water. No animation forthcoming and nothing really happening on live action. And Todd's not funding the next Spawn movie because he can't and may not want the risk to begin with.
Spawn needs to keep making solid issues and make a real effort to recruit new and former readers but I don't see this new shake up as doing that. Any new readers will be fly by night fanboys that want "hot" comics not readers who want good comics month after month.

Some good questions in that interview and some interesting answers -- specifically, the non-answers. How is it too complicated to answer where Spawn/Batman is? Obviously something going on there.
That said, I AM looking forward to finding out who's working on this. My money is Whilce on art first, Lee second. Writing -- hrmm, I'm guessing Todd, but he's editing so maybe Larsen on writing.
And del gorky -- Dead in the water? Any property can be revived with the right idea and approach. Can't disagree with you more.
Bookguy - Miracleman? I'm certain any question about Miracleman would result in a similar answer to the Spawn/Batman question. Plus, we know where its at right now -- appeals hell.

I actually liked Spawn when it first came out. I read the first 32 issues. I stopped reading it , not because of the lack of quality on the book, but because I couldn't afford it anymore. I also got really weary of the tone in the letters page. The only thing that could draw back to Spawn now would be Todd either drawing or writing the title. Or Todd working with Jim Lee. I read that Spawn was going to be more of a horror comic. If Spawn were to be more like The Spectre, Dr. Fate, or Dr. Strange - like Reaper on the CW - I might read it again. But, once again, only if Todd were totally, 100% involved in either writing or drawing the book.

It's good to know that some things will always remain a constant, a touchstone, something you can reach out and see and feel and know it will always be there, unchanging.
In this case, it's the fact that Todd is still a prevaricating piece of shit.
Ah, memories...

My guess is Whilice Portacio. He is still an Image founder even if life interfered with his work.

I stopped reading Spawn about 113, mainly because of budget restraints.
I heard the god killer story is pretty good so I was thinking of picking up the trades, any recomendations?
As for the 'new direction' stuff, my initial reaction was 'Again?' I read the first issue of the last new start and wasn't actually that impressed it looked too much like a horror comic and far too big a departure from where it came from. I'm all for progress and development, when I left the title it still seemed to know where it was and what it was doing but now, I don't know somthing was just not dragging me back to a book I once liked.

I still have my hopes up of a great team like Mcfarlane and Lee
But its leaning towards Mcfarlane and Whilce.

Awwe man- come on now! Unless that's a friendly inside joke, that's uncalled for.
You can accuse Todd of prevarication, but the personal attacks are too much.
