Does the background look like fog to you guys? The fog is pretty much complete barring it not be convincing but the picture is not fully finished.

It looks pretty much like fog to me; the dark patches are maybe a tad thick though, but that's being really nitpicky. I think it's just fine.

ooh it's already looking pretty....
for the fog I think it looks good, maybe lighten the dark patches a bit, it gives me a feeling of storm clouds more than fog (or maybe add a little fog effect on the foreground around the face?).
But really it works fine as is too.

Looks more like dark clouds in the sky to me.
Maybe try a whiter fog or put something obscured in the background?

I'm going to try and put a few man-shaped figures in the back with glowing red eyes. Hopefully they come out well. I've done very little painting in Photoshop like this. I'm usually a pen and ink guy coloring only when I have to.
But I am glad that mostly it looks like fog so far to you guys. I'll try any suggestions that come along to make it look better though.
Thanks all so far!

I was thinking the same thing.
Especially near the bottom, you have too much blue in it and near the top you have too much dark gray.
Also, it should be darker nearer the ground. Generally there will be more things near the ground to cast shadows in the fog, and as you move up it should become clearer.

Thanks for the heads up TC. I might be able to change the top to dark lightness very easily as I have a gradient runing dark to light from top to bottom and a reversal of that may solve some problems.

It's very hard to depict fog without anything else within it, it's always going to look more like a cloudy sky than fog.
The best way is to keep it a simple gradient and put in some kind of vague background (trees, buildings, people) dimly visible through the gray.
