Apparently he does a great imitation of a German accent (speaks fluent German) as spoking through a tube. Not sure what that means, but I sincerely doubt that Guillermo would have a voice in the movie that doesn't suite the character. In other words, don't lose hope just yet.

He sounded fine during the preview we saw at NYCC. The voice sounded like a german man speaking into a bowl. I had no idea it was Seth.

It's taking an unbelievable amount of effort to keep this from ruining my day.
Johann is going to sound like Klaus from American Dad.
I need to go for a walk or something.

What the deuce? Well.. that's... unexpected. I don't dislike. It's just.. odd. Wow. Interesting to hear him do a serious character and I'm wondering what his German accent sounds like. Plus he does have a fantastic voice.
Actually, Klaus is voiced by a different actor on American Dad. It's not one of the gajilion voices MacFarline does on his show.
I am reminded of a certain episode of Family Guy when they were visting Germany.
Brian: Wait a minute, there is just a giant space from 1933-1945, you can't just pretend like..
German: Nothing happened! We were on vacation!
Brian: But the Germans invaded Poland in...
German: We were invited! Punch was served!

......"Mignola's creation The Amazing Screw-On Head was discussed, with Mignola explaining that the television pilot episode produced for the Sci-Fi Channel was not picked up. "The Sci-Fi Channel just didn't know what to do with it," Mignola related. He did mention there is a collection of the Amazing Screw-On Head comic in the works which will include the original comic as well as what he described as "other little curiosities."...............
Well it looks like I can loose my infamous e-mail signature soon
I have been waiting for this collection for MANY years now. And I have been bugging Scott Allie about it also - so he just have to include me in the credits

McFarlane is a great voice actor. As it has already been pointed out, he doesn't voice Klaus.
So un-knot your knickers and don't let it ruin your day.
I trust GDT. I mean, I only had the briefest of "OMG, it's Niles!" moments listening to DHP voice Abe in the first movie and the decision to have him overdub was for the marquee name (I'm glad Jones has his own voice this time around). I expect that McFarlane is doing this because he does a good job.

I intensely dislike Seth Macfarlane. I'm really, really unhappy that he's in this. That's pretty much it.

Shame, because I am willing to bet that no one here would be able to tell that it was Seth had he not been mentioned prior. To me its all about getting lost in the part to the point where you are seen as the character and not the actor. I liken it to the Heath Ledger business with the Dark Knight. Honestly, can anyone locate a snippet of a once Aussie teen heart throb in the latest incarnation of the Clown Prince? If Mcfarlane does a similar job, then it shouldn't affect your enjoyment of the film. That is pretty much all I have to say on the matter.

I used to love Family Guy (a few years ago when I was in high school). Now I just catch it from time to time (American Dad is actually a better show). I think the man is a pretty dang good voice actor, giving sufficiently different and interesting characters to so many voices in his shows.
He can do a great German accent? He actually speaks German? Sounds good to me.

Well, two choices: allow this one aspect to ruin the experience of the movie for you, or dash it to the background and just enjoy the rest of what is more appealing about the movie to you. Hopefully when the movie premieres, you'll choose the latter.

I just wrote a big long post, but it was boring.
Soooo; I'm sure the movie is going to be great, so I will suck it up and get over it. It's not like they cast Paris Hilton or something.
I heard Paris has a cameo walking out of an upscale clothing store after Liz has just flamed a monster. "That's hot."

I can't take a joke. Please tell me that's not true.
THAT WOULD BE SO VERY VERY AWFUL.
Unless... Liz torches Paris... The celebrity, not the city... I love the French...
P.S. It's not true, is it?

I don't think he's doing new ASoH stories. It'll be included in a trade paperback with stories that have that same sort of sensibility. He mentioned it at the end of this video interview (http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1452197574/bclid1508312018/bctid1511781390).

Is it going to be an English version of the French BD hardcover he put out of Screw-On Head? That one has a whole whack of Mignola stories I'm unfamiliar with; there's one with The Mask in it, and one drawn by Ryan Sook.
Forgive me if I'm late to the table on this one.
No, he talks about it in various interviews. There'll be Screw-on Head, I guess some things he's done here and there that haven't found a home but he'll be doing NEW STORIES THAT HE'S GOING TO DRAW. So I'm guessing we have some one shots of Mignola sequential art to look forward to before any sort of TPB is released.

It'd be nice to have all that stuff in one place. I'm so over having single issues of these weird stories. You say there's a French edition?

Yeah, I was at BD Planete here in Montréal last week, and there was a BD of The Amazing Screw-On Head, in French, with a bunch of Mignola stories I've never seen before. One had The Mask fighting a tentacle-y thing in a graveyard. I think Mike drew that one. There was a story drawn by Ryan Sook that I'd never seen before.
I didn't bring it up because I thought it might have been discussed. Does anybody know anything about this?
