A peek into the future of Nintendo graphics

Going from the Gamecube to the Wii, Nintendo hasn't really made much of a leap in terms of visuals, at least not as much as the other two systems it's competing with. But I think in a few more generations Nintendo will achieve a staggering level of detail for all of it's favorite franchises. For instance, here is a preview of things to come for our favorite plumber....

It's funny, but there actually is a third party production company out there that gives a rat's ass about the Wii's graphical abilities. High Voltage created the Quantum3 gameplay engine for their upcoming game The Conduit, and the graphics look really good. Not 360 or PS3 good, but damn good for a Wii game.

Personally, I prefer the Wii's emphasis on art direction over realism.
