Random Morrison Earth 2 Question

So, I was just rereading Morrison and Quietly's Earth 2, and right before that I had been reading the classic Mad story "Superduperman". I was struck by how similar the staging of the scenes and dialogue was between the Lois Lane/ Jimmy Olsen scene in E2 and the Lois Lane/ Clark Kent scene in "Superduper". Anyone know if there's a link or if Morrison's said anything about this? Thanks
