THE STORY:

Rated T+ …$2.99 Looks like the people who wanted to see the Old New Warriors fight the New New Warriors got their wish a shame it could only be a two part story though.

Lots of stuff looking really good, but one thing caught my eye:

JEPH LOEB is writing the Red Hulk vs Thor battle. God help us all, Hulk will ignore all his powers and all continuity and step on him in a minute...

Still, some solicits are getting me quite excited- though I'm still more hyped for Final Crisis than anything over here. The Thor solicit is typically useless, but the Fantastic Four one looks damn good, as does Secret Invasion and... ah Hell, everything, really.

July is marvel's month. most of the books look amazing. Even that moon knight issue, but why don't they tell what reprint comes with it. No way is that issue 80 pages of real and new story.

Well hopefully some of them choose to retire and the New Warriors become as close to the originals as possible. The only new characters they could keep around is jubilee, Beak, and Wind Dancer. Angel can retire and take care of her kids and everyone else can just go away.

In all fairness though, in this day and age it's probably tough to come up with a new team name. Plus, the 50 states Initiaitve means they need to come up with another 50 (though we know several are recycles old teams).

I personally think just calling them Warriors would have worked. Getting rid of the extra adjectives worked for the Titans.

Astonishing X-Men #25 - I generally enjoy Ellis’ work, and Bianchi’s art; I’ll probably get this, but I’m waiting to hear a bit more about what they’ve got planned (the prospect of Cyclops and Storm on the same team is certainly enticing).

Avengers/Invaders #3 - Namor vs. Namor!

Secret Invasion: Runaways/Young Avengers - That’s a really beautiful cover.

Captain America: Operation Rebirth TPB - I’ve been interested in reading some of Waid’s run for a while, so this is opportune.

Captain Britain and MI:13 - Vampire Spitfire? I’m sure Union Jack will love that.

Fantastic Four #559 - The Johnny/supervillainess plot has been the most fun so far, so it’s interesting to see it take centre stage (‘Burning Man’ seems a lot like the Torch).

Secret Invasion #4 - Seeing New Cap and Thor get involved sounds very cool.

Captain America #40 - Will likely continue to rock.

Incredible Hercules #119 - This has been a great series too (Romita on the cover actually draws Cho’s dog looking something like what it’s supposed to be, a coyote pup; the interior artists have been drawing some sort of rollie-pollie dog).

Thor #10 - I really hope he’ll start doing something soon, though the solicits and covers for this series never give any useful information.

X-Force #5 - Archangel? If he gets the wings back, that would be cool, but there are enough blue-skinned mutants going around.

Criminal #5 - Not much into crime comics, but I’m a huge fan of Brubaker’s work.

Ms. Marvel #29 - Could this fun series please get a good cover artist?

Uncanny X-Men #500 - I don’t know if I can stand Land.

X-Men: Legacy #214 - This has been an interesting series so far; apparently Carey’s going to address the murky backstory involving Mister Sinister and Cyclops.

Fantastic Four: True Story #1 - Cornell’s interview for this makes it sound really awesome. I can’t wait. The Four are having a good year, between Millar/Hitch and the prospect of this.

I would think that the fans were more interested in seeing each,or both, of the teams fight real bad guys like the Thunderbolts than two anti-reg teams battling each other.

Won't happen, but It does I will know what I have suspected Marvel policy is that Heroic heros are obsolete. The future will be emotional cripples like the new Spidey and goverment employees like the MA.

Sadly, it probably won't be Steve Rogers, but Bucky-Cap is awesome too, and assuming it's real-Thor, it'll be interesting to see if they run into each other.

But how much do you want to bet that by the end of the series, it's "One with a shield, one with a hammer, and one with a suit of power armor?"

yeesh, dat dere be a 'spensive month. Is it just me or has the overall quality of art in Marvel comics been rising on a pretty steep scale lately.

I like to say I'm not getting sucked into the SI tie in stuff, but there's a LOT of cool stories growing out of this and I'm feeling myself being drawn in to more of them than I'd have expected. The other events got a total of maybe $15 bucks out of me, but this one's gunning for a home equity loan.:cool:

I'm extremely excited about Astonishing X-Men's second phase. This book really got me back into the X-Men again without having to follow a pile of books to know what was going on in their world. Namor vs. Namor in Avengers/Invaders #3 will be fantastic - hopefully someday we'll actually get a Namor ongoing.

The only thing that struck me as strange in the list of solicits was a quote from an ASM solicit..

"can Spidey protect his secret identity from his new foe?" It really doesn't seem likely that POOF Spidey's identity would be compromised after the great lengths taken to make sure he regained his secret identity.

Moon Knight looks and sounds amazing! That cover is excellent, I can't wait to see more of Deodato's Moon Knight. And the Werewolf by Night inclusion is extremely welcome. It seems that the current arc will leave Moon Knight in a desperate situation. The New Avengers don't seem too bothered by being fugitives, hopefully it will play out more interestingly here.

Now I wonder, is it really an extra sized one-shot, or will it include a reprint of maybe Moon Knight's first appearance from Werewolf by Night? Can't wait!

Secret Invasion sounds extremely cool as well! Nick Fury, the Young Avengers, Captain Bucky AND Thor?

It sucks about Xavin, though. And it seems to be true as preview art shows him/her attacking the Runaways. I hope it's just some kind of misdirection, I really don't want to see him/her go.

I think its possible that out if these 2 SI issues we might get a new NW team that melds the two groups. Maybe some of the ex-mutant NW members turn out to be skrulls as well (Skybolt Phaser & Ripcord?), maybe Angel goes back to being a full time mom, Jono gets sent to the Capt. B book. Then we have Wondra, Blackwing & Renasence, Thrash & the rest could be some of Counter Force. That would be a good lineup I think...
