I'd be perfectly fine if it were all test tube skrull babies spliced with those heroes DNA and implanted with their memories and were good guys. Last thing I want is a big throw down in the Jungle and the NA/MA join forces and win. No fun in that.

I'll hope all those exiting the skrull shuttle are the real deal, I want a lot of those people back, if not all of them because they are more awesome.

Hah.. Not bad. I had thought of your Hawkeye scenario along time ago but with regards to Quicksilver. That Pietro had been kidnapped by skrulls shortly after his series ended (and he got the power boost that was pretty much ignored) and that from that point on it had been a Skrull but Wanda's magic had actually turned the Skrull Quicksilver into a duplicate of the real one.

My thoughts are that these are rogue skrulls from the X-men story where the x-men were shot through time and space (I think after fighting juggernaught who was ripping holes in the time-space continuim.) and landed on the skrull homeworld just before Galactus arrives to eat it. There they run into skrulls training as earths superheroes but they have an outsiders point of view so they act corny and spiderman-skrull thinks he is a supervillain because thats how the daily bugle portrays him.

Anyways they also run into a skrull who is Thunderbird but he is now expelled from skrull society and hunted for sport because his earth counterpart was dead (They were locked into thier forms and powers) and he survived by joining other skrulls who were expelled, almost an underground alliance.

I think that these skrulls that you see are -those- outcasts, thats why all the ones you see have had thier powers changed, costumes changed, or have died here on 616. Thats why they say thier corny phrases as they come out. The only one that is hard to explain this way is wolverine, but he may of been expelled when wolvie lost his admantium laced bones (to be replaced at a later time.) and he had already joined the rebellion.

WHite queen got diamond form, iron man got his new virus tech and new suit, spiderman got new powers (biological wrist webbing.), Captain A, Mocking bird and thor died. Hawkeye died at one point. Scarlet witch is conscidered dead, beast got a whole new body.

These rejects would then be against the skrull invasion.

If that's the case it would be corny as hell. I remember that story line and hated it like most others. I don't think Bendis would go back and use it. It would totally devalue the whole invasion.
