Hello again Tony-
I've had customers over the years, two today, that want to know what the plans were as far as outcomes on some of your Crossgen material. Are you able to talk about such things now that Crossgen is in theory no more?

Y'know, we were going to have NEGATION WAR culminate the whole Sigil saga, with Danik (the god who handed out the Sigils) and Charon (his opposite number in Negation Space) having a showdown in Perdition (the pocket universe of Negation Space ruled by Charon's adversary). But the showdown would get sabotaged by Obregone Kaine of NEGATION, who uses the adversary's "soul bomb" to turn Danik and Charon back into normal men. Then Kaine beats them both silly with a toilet and leaves them to the tender mercies of Komptin.
After that, I'm not sure what we would've done. Probably relaunched several of the series and tried to focus less on the Sigil stuff and more on telling good genre stories like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and El Cazador.
But, alas, it was not to be.

As a fan of "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang", I still hold out hope you'll do something with it. Perhaps finish it in novel form or adapt it to a screenplay...Terrific cliff hanger to #5. My hope may be in vain but I'll never stop longing to find out what happened to Ol' Blue Eyes and Agent Shelley. I'm sure I'm not the only one!

Hi Tony!
Long time fan but I'm new to your message boards. Used to be on the CG boards alot back in the day...
First I wanted to say thanks for even giving us that small glimpse into what Negation War could've been. I got to meet you in Chicago at Wizard World back in '02 (sat next to you at the fan breakfast) but that was when Negation was still getting started. If you're ever at another show that I attend in the future I'll try to refrain from talking too much CG.
Also a big fan of your Exiles run (I have all of it in Trade). Haven't had a chance to pick up BoP yet but I'm hearing goods things. Do you have any other series coming up soon, or just the run on BoP? Either way, great work and I look forward to reading your material for years to come!
Best,
Justin

Man, that sounds like it would have been so awesome! Negation was, by far, my favorite Crossgen book.

The genre stuff was awesome. I was pissed at only getting a couple issues of El Cazador. Even The Path and Way of the Rat, though pretty tied in with the sigil stuff, were great samurai and martial arts epics, respectively.
But, alas, it was not to be.
*sigh*

Oh, I miss Crossgen quite a bit sometimes. Working on my own in my house in Tampa isn't ideal for me. i really need folks to bounce ideas off.

I was just rereading the whole Negation run this weekend. Man I wish you could have finished up the War. I do have one question. What was going to happen to the First? The next issue burb for the one that never came said "The Last of the First". Were they all going to be wiped out in the battle with the Lawbringers or were they all going to end up being destroyed except for maybe Altwal. I just hope you had a very nasty death planned for Evenlea.

I actually think Evinlea was going to be the sole survivor of the First. It's been a while, and I can't recall all the details, though...

I remember we got that whole issue pencilled and inked, but it was never colored or published.....
Most of the generic First got killed, but a handful of their main characters survived, including Altwall. Evenlea blasted the white haired girl point blank in the face, and killed a major Crossgen character - she came off pretty well in that issue. She was too much fun to ever think of killing off!

Yay! I always wondered what would have happened to Evi. I figured she would probably being running the Negation Empire after the events of the War!

Now more then ever I need to see that issue!
