For the last couple of years, I've always tried to post something special on this day of the year; items that are a) superhero-related, and b) funny (at least in my highly biased opinion -- it's always possible that my friends are too polite to give me honest reviews). But these pieces are not always meant to "seriously mislead" anyone; I'm not much good at that sort of "practical joke."
Anyway! This year I did something a little different. With a wary eye toward the frightening possibility of libel suits, I devised a fictional conversation between people I invented for the occasion, set in a comic book editor's office in the headquarters of an imaginary company which publishes imaginary comic books, using superhero names which I also created on the spur of the moment.
However, having carefully gotten those formal disclaimers out of the way on advice of counsel, I'm here to suggest that my fellow fans of the Bat-titles might, by a not-too-large stretch of the imagination, find something to chuckle over and to sympathize with in the events of this conversation. I posted it earlier today at:
A Glimpse at the Selection Process (http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2497959/1/A_Glimpse_at_the_Selection_Process)
Then, if you're really starved for entertainment, you might even drag yourself over to a one-shot story I posted today, based on the "Teen Titans" cartoon series of blessed memory. The story was originally intended to be exaggerated parody suitable for the first day of April, but somehow ended up as fairly conventional humor when I was trying to flesh it out over the weekend.
What Your Friends Really Think (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4170804/1/What_Your_Friends_Really_Think)
Anyway, any feedback will be appreciated! (Of course, if it's negative feedback, I'll just tell myself you're getting into the spirit of April Fools' Day and being heavily ironic! :))
