How can people say "meh" to this??Because it's just some pretty (if you like McGuiness' style anyway) images with nothing in the way of plot or emotional involvement attached to them.

Looks like a big ol' Toho movie monster mash. Fun.

I'll be wanting the real Abomination back soon but A Bomb is pretty neat himself.

I just wish the Hulk issues came out more often. I think waiting from the initial announcement of the ? Red Hulk at the end of WWH has made the wait that much longer. I've had this book on my pull list for awhile and I've only read 2 issues - sigh. Anyways, thanks for the advance info.

For a Hulk-level fight scene it looks cool enough.

Besides that it doesn't really capture my interest.

Ed McGuinness' art really suits the Hulk. It's larger than life proportions are great.

ANyone find it strange that there's a Hulk movie coming out this year and the Red Hulk is the only one with a series?

Since we don't know anything about Red, it's questionable as to whether we should call it the Hulk or not. hmmm.

The art looks great and I am enjoying this storyline but...this is a preview?

I don't need huge revelations in my previews but this is literally:

A-bomb hits Hulk. Hulk hits A-bomb. Then A-bomb hits Hulk again.

LOL. I'm sure it'll be lots of fun in the context of the comic itself but sometimes preview content makes me scratch my head. How does this entice anyone into buying the book who wouldn't already be doing so?

How does this entice anyone into buying the book who wouldn't already be doing so?

I had a similar reaction. I've read Hulk from time to time over the years, and I'm open to reasons to read this series, but these images didn't do much to move me in that direction.

But then again this is just a First Look. Not that adding the dialogue to those panels is likely to change much.

The preview images are not clear but could someone explain how A-Bomb ends up nude but Hulk still has his incredible trousers on given they are about the same size?

Can anyone tell me why this title is getting delayed already? I mean if you launch a new book line surely this is the worst way to promote it?

My guess? Because issue 4 features the reappearance of big green. They pry wanted him to make his comeback in the same month his movie is, but that's just a guess.

^^ Exactly - there is nothing stating that Red Hulk is the permanent new Hulk. It's just how the series starts off. In various interviews it has basically been stated that this will be the new Hulk comic book.

The artwork looks fantastic! McGuinness and Hulk, it's like peanut butter and chocolate... perfect combo!

Yeah, A-bomb sounded a little hokey to me as well. I guess Loeb is trying to distinguish him from the original.

It probably wouldn't be a good business decision to try and entice new readers with a comic that's in the middle of a story arc.

Stan Lee himself developed names for characters along a similar line, for example "Doc Ock".

Spider Man was written by Stan Lee, who created Dr. Octopus in the first place. One day when writing a comic he thought it would be fun to come up with a nickname and chose Doc Ock, and ever since that many people referred to him as that - Doc Ock.

I'm more looking forward to a green/red battle, but AbomoRick should provide a decent warm up.

It will be nice when Green meets Red, and we finally have a stand up battle between Green and someone who can hold a candle to him.

And in year 2011, the Iraq War will be over, but American will find a new war with Iran. NATO will collapse, Kosovo will join Albania, a new economic bloc around Russia will emerge, and the Hulk's first arch under Loeb will finally enter completion with iossue #6, finally revealing who is the Red Hulk.

Well, they might be going by the last couple of issues.

It's okay, don't get me wrong, but there seem to be far fewer panels per issue here than the standard comic, I think there was something like 70 panels total in 22 pages of the first issue (that's a close guestimation, don't have the issue here)

Of course I'm guessing A-Bomb gets curb stomped since his victory would make a Hulk fight anti-climatic :(

Green Hulk will eventually take the ''Hulk'' comic since Red Hulk is pretty much a villain. Then again that depends on who Red Hulk is but i really doubt that it will take long for Banner to be back especially with the movie coming up.

Stupid hulk is back. by that, I mean that the fully thinking hulk from the planet hulk/WWH story arc is gone. My desire to continue with this story arc just plummeted to zero. Who wants a re-hash of idiot hulk again after he was supposed to have matured?

In issue #5 Red Hulk is going to fight Thor. I don't think there's much hope for a 616 Banner Hulk book, at least not in the short term.

Who wants a re-hash of idiot hulk again after he was supposed to have matured?Red Hulk has at the very least above average intelligence. He acquired a SHIELD-issue gun to bust a cap in the Abomination's @$$. And he erased all of SHIELD's files on the Hulk. Not to mention, we saw him speak in complete sentences in issue #3. I'm not saying you shouldn't drop the book, because I certainly am. Loeb's Hulk sucks. But I would think you'd want your decision based on a factual reason.
