I dont know if they killed him off or what. I haven't seen him in way to long. And Death Head 3.0 can bite me. I want the OG. (For those who forgot Deaths Head 2 was Minon, until he absorbed Deaths Head 1 and was taken over). Unfortunately for me I can never find the old books, except for the few I have.
I was reading my old DH2 books and have to admit. Now I miss that crazy, lovable, destroy anything and body who stands in his way cyborg... With all the craziness going on now he would be such a great fit in SOOOO many story lines... He's super adaptible, has a ton of combat ability and some sweet firepower. Not to mention I always thought he was one of the badest looking characters ever, lol.
He could be bounty hunting Hercules or Warbound, helping in the Skrull Invasion and I personally think he would be a sweet addition to a team. Either the Avengers, the Shiar Imperial Guard or even the New Guardians of the Galaxy!!!
An if anyone has any info what happend to his charater please update me. I unfortunately new got the final issue. So I dont know if he was destroyed (which would blow) or if they just stopped telling his adventures.

Forget about tying it into the mainstream Marvel Universe. Just give me a continuity free crazy-awesome Death's Head book. There's alot of places that a story about a bounty hunting cyborg can go.
Marvel Comics Presents: MAX Death's Head yes?

U know I didn't even think of that. His own storyline would be sweet. Even a Mini would be fun. AN that second pic is a classic for me. I always wanted that as a poster.

I really like just about every version of Death's Head. I really wish they would bring back the original he was the best. I also wish they would bring back Death's Head II and just have him go by Minion. These are two characters I think could be really successful in Marvel U. if given the chance.

I'm just wondering. Is Death Head still alive in the current Marvel timeline?
I mean, the right writer could do wonders with the character, yes?

Was it Dh2 that fought against the X-Men and kicked their butts? I seem to remember a battle where Cyc went all out and it didn't do anything against DH or something.

I'm just wondering. Is Death Head still alive in the current Marvel timeline?
Technically, yes.
Death's Head is, until we are told anything different, still on that alien planet we saw him left on in Death's Head II: GOLD, by Liam Sharp. With many of his 107 personalities bidding for control of his second body.
But of course Marvel went and screwed some of that up by creating Death's Head 3.0. Death's Head 3.0 appeared in the final issues of the last Amazing Fantasy volume, after DH had won a Marvel.com poll for the revamping of a character. Only what we received in 3.0 was a pretty strong betrayal of the character.
The trademark Death's Head attitude and speech pattern (Yes?) was gone - because 3.0 couldn't or didn't speak.
He wasn't a Bounty Hunter.
His weapons arm was gone.
Physically he bore very little similarity to either incarnation, nor had any in canon ties to it - seemingly deliberately.
And he was tied to the Planet Hulk event, as a weird army of irrelevant footsoldiers - at every turn a mismatch.
That wasn't Death's Head. It wasn't what people were voting for.
I'm bringing this thread up again now, because Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning recently tried to tie up some loose ends with 3.0 in Nova #17, where we see schematics for 3.0 as part of Dr. Evelyn Necker's 'Project Minion' at Project Pegasus. This is 2008. For those who know Death's Head II Dr. Evelyn Necker created Minion, the cyborg body which later absorbed Death's Head's personality, in 2020 - so in showing us these schematics 12 years earlier implies that 3.0 could well be the prototype model for Death's Head II.
Here's hoping. Because if I never see 3.0 again in my life I will certainly not feel that I missed a thing.
Both Death's Head and Death's Head II are still active out there in the multiverse. Though DHII slew one version of DH and assimilated him, we also know there was a reality where the battle went the other way. Since both of them are reality hopping characters, it's impossible to say that the DH who survived against DHII is any less "real" than the one who lost. So if I writer wishes to bring either or both back, the option is there.

It certainly is a possibility. After all the original Death's Head certainly spent a good part of his time outside the 616 universe. Either could be brought back, or indeed an entirely new version from a different reality.
But I guess that to simplify things the Death's Head we knew in proper continuity is (Until we hear differently) in the Minion body, still trapped on an alien world. And what I take from Nova #17 is that the 3.0 body from Amazing Fantasy is effectively the prototype for that body.
I know that Simon Furman has said that he would have liked to make Death's Head's story more circular, by establishing 3.0 as the prototype for the original Death's Head, but that would kind of contradict the origins from the Body in Question storyline from Strip Magazine - and I'd rather that not be retconned out.

Exactly - you could just bring back the DH from What If? v2 #54 [into the MU or otherwise], or a similar version.
For me, I would rather see the original Death's Head, yes?

That's my point - the one from What If is as much the real, original DH, as the one who got killed by Minion. In each case, the battle occured in a reality other than 616, so it wouldn't be a stretch at all for the surviving original DH seen in What If to come to 616. That's why, when DH had his most recent Marvel handbook entry, both the one who Minion killed and the one seen in What If got covered in the entry. There's no need to have either DH or DH II - with reality hopping types like these guys, you can have your cake and eat it. Both sets of fans (and those, like myself, who like both incarnations) can get to see the character they like back in action.

Deadpool vs Death's Head? Now THAT I would pay money to see! Merc vs Bounty Hunter, with as many weapons as either could get there hands on, with the potential for some of the snappiest dialogue imaginable. That would be a winning concept, in my eyes.

I say bring back Death's Head I the original and bring back Death's Head to as Minion. I love both characters. The only incarnation of Death's Head I haven't cared for is the last one that appeared in Amazing Fantasy V.2.

Both incarnations could travel around together, possibly with a damaged 3.0 unit like a pet?

Personally, I'd much rather say Death's Head I return. I loved that series back in the day. I recently picked up Fantastic Four Visionaries: Walt Simonson vol. 1 which features a guest appearance by DH1. It took me back to some good times.
Having said that, any Death's Head series with Liam Sharp artwork would be appreciated.

Since Death's Head first started in a Transformers comic, what would be really cool would be for him to have a crossover with Beast Wars Megatron...yes.
Too bad that will never happen...no.

I really like Death's Head, but I wish they'd go back to the original design. Death's Head II was a little too "EXTREME 90's" and lacked the quirkiness of the original look. But both versions of the character are fun.

Yeah. DH showed it in quite a few places in that time. He turned up in She-Hulk as well. That to me is the way Death's Head should be - moving from place to place, with that potential to turn up at any place and time.

Sadly Babylon, we won't be seeing that any time soon. Liam's DC exclusive now, drawing Testament for Vertigo and their Gears of War series. Marvel's loss. He pitched them two Death's Head revivals (Death's Heralds and Ultimate Death's Head) which they turned down. His work at DC has been particularly good. Marvel have really missed out, there.

Death's Head became much bigger than Transformers in comics terms. His appearances there were great, but I think he works far better as a free-roaming character. I do miss those early 90s days where he could do both, mind.

It did lack a little bit of the quirkiness, but I don't think it was too 90s. I think it would be perfectly plausible to redesign him in the 90s body. I want to see a Death's Head where he's the central personality, but the other 106 keep on vying for control.
