a friend of mine and i were going back and forth with comic facts the other day and a question arose that i really didnt know the answer to...what kind of paper are comics printed on? can anyone give me an answer i really dont want to lose the battle of wits

It really depends on the comic. The standard for years was newsprint, but in the 80s there was a big switch to a heavier stock. (I think it might've been referred to as "Mando offset paper", but I could be misremembering.

Anyhow, these days the sky's the limit - coated, uncoated papers, you name it. The norm seems to be a glossy stock, but even within those parameters, there seem to be several different ones.
