He'll never make it as a comic artist with lack of perspective, no knowledge of anatomy, and no understanding of proportion.

Faster too! :p

Wow. That is really quite an amazing video right there, when you think of it! Thanks for posting that link, I think that is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. I had no idea any other animal other than humans was able to make art, or even think on the conceptual level of 2-dimensional representation of reality! Seriously awesome!

I think it's cool. And better control than some 4 year olds I've seen. :)

I can see a little Howard Chaykin in there, what with those strong thick lines which make it virtually unrecognizable.

I admit to skipping around that video a bit, but was there EVER a frame where you could see the elephant "painting" in full frame?

The elephant was pretty much a prima donna.

It look like there was more that one elephant painting. The guy with the camera just consentrated on that one painting.
You can hear the people aplose when the guards show the other elephants painting.
And see the painting of the elephant next to him when the guard carie it.it was a bunch of flowers.

You're doubting the reality of it?

In this clip, I don't think there's any mistaking that's a real elephant trunk holding that brush. And besides, I've seen other footage (years ago on CBS Sunday Morning) about an elephant that painted - and that did show the whole elephant while painting.

Although I was aware that they are very dexterous picking up things with the tips of the trunk, I was still fascinated to see the amount of control demonstrated. The elephant was very precise in planting the brush back on the surface.
