DocAbsurd has had MAJOR computer problems for several months. Between that (it limited his internet access), work (and the time spent getting to work sans automobile), parenting, and fighting off illnesses, he hasn't had a lot of time for social posting.

Regretfully.

But he's hoping to get things back in order in the not-so-distant future.

I'll let him know he's missed at YABS. (I talk to him every so often, as he's doing some artwork for me.)

Yeah I've wondered where Doc Absurd went. I knew I hadn't seen him posting for awhile. Its good to know.

I'm still lurking about.

My computer took a crap right before Thanksgiving. I couldn't get the damn thing to boot up without being in safemode, which made doing anything other than reading the basic news and occasional posting out of the question.

My gramma had congestive heart failure in January, and, after a humongous battle between my mother and her sister, it was decided that Gramma would move in with my folks. So we spent the better part of February cleaning out her apartment (of 33 years). We got some old furniture (new to us), resulting in re-arranging the entire house; also had to clean everything from all the grime of 3 decades.

Thing 2 made her First Reconciliation just before Easter. I'm helping Thing Prime with his college decisions. Thing 1 is requiring some extra attention for added homework loads.

We've had drastic cutbacks at B&N, and I'm fighting for every fecking penny from public assistance. What makes that so much worse is the Deadbeat is behind on child support by $20.5k. And I can't seem to get any help tracking her down. I just filed more papers for 'willful violation', so she's looking at jail-time, fines, and a hefty pay-back. I'm thinking about creating a website for custodial parents, and I've started a campaign to get these actions out in the open where they belong.

Oh, Momma and I are still together. Plans for the big merger are still in full-swing.

And I've kinda got a new attitude when it comes to posting: if I don't have anything to say, I don't say anything. I just know people get tired real fast reading my bullshit.

But thanks for noticing I've been kinda quiet. Means a lot when your absence is a matter of concern.

Doc, I'm sorry to have let you down. After I promised to send you the PC that I have, I procrastinated about getting my files off it (well, that and I have a ton of other things demanding my time).

And then my idiot brother-in-law showed up to demand his computer back. Seems Dell tracked him down and they want him to make good on the loan he took out to buy the damn thing, so since he has to pay for it now, he figures he should have it.

I decided that peace in the family had to prevail, since he's my wife's only living immediate family member. I've been putting off telling you while I tried to come up with another solution. The tech department at work comes up with obsolete systems every so often and I've been hoping it would happen soon.

I'll keep trying to find a new PC for you.
