Todays the day, Proof 6 came out I've been waiting for this book to come out for 8 months. The first five where great, But I feel this issue is where I really am starting to get the characters.

When we started talking about the second arc I made a list of things I wanted to draw at some point and Alex found a way to write em all in.

I'll put some art up later.

How's this for some art?

Those pages are all unlettered, so they show off Riley's terrific art and the beautiful coloring done by Fiona Staples (she's doing full art duties on DC's new Hawksmoor series, which also starts today).

Riley wanted to shoot and butcher a dinosaur. He's easy to work with.

The first Proof trade, which collects issues 1-5 will be out in a month. If you want to be all caught up on this book, you need #6. Plus, Proof is kinda known for including lots of extras in the back that won't be collected in any trade.

Pick this up. You'll be happy you did.

(End shameless plug.)

So I just got Issue's 1-5 delivered to my dorm today (no good stores around/I don't have a car) and I'm excited to get number 6, unfortunately I ran through them pretty quick cause that's what I'm used to (and I had class). I'm so glad that there is so much layering and depth to these and it's very apparent how much love has been put into Proof. I can't wait to comb through all of these when I have the time and I've already ordered Issue 6.

It took me a little bit of time to warm up to your style, but I'm finding that I really love it. I feel both the writing and art has a lot of re-read value. Keep up the great work and I can't wait for more.

I'm glad you like the book, We certainly love it. Alex and I have tried to pour as much love into it as humanly possible, As well thanks for your honesty about the art, I know its not the most easily accessible. I believe its getting better with each issue and I'll try my damnedest to keep getting better as things go. Issue 6 is a great jumping on point and has the best art so far i my opinion Alex put everything I've wanted to draw in this arc.

When you get a chance to comb through the back matter like you said let us know what you think of it. We have letters stories, newspaper articles, eyewitness accounts, soon art revisions I did, A whole pile of stuff.

I was thinking today about comics, and such, Its a weird market very small now but growing mostly on the OGN/TPB front. I figured I'd post some illustrations here cause some people might be interested in what illustrators have to do, to pay the bills while working on a monthly book,

heres an elephant headed guy riding a scooter.

Now first off, Wow, what an interesting combination. Dare I ask, what exactly is this illustration for?

Secondly, thanks for posting more of your artwork, I know you feel it's not mainstream but the texture you add to your work is just awesome and I like the individuality and gritty-ness it adds.

Thirdly, you mentioned the growing popularity of TPB's and since I'm pretty new to comics that's been mostly how I've come into the market. But Proof I find, is absolutely excellent in the single issue format and I think the issue's are 100% worth their cost. I know you guy's want to put this out for as long as you're allowed, and frankly I hope you get a chance to take Proof everywhere you want, cause I hope to be in for the long haul and can't wait to see where the series goes.

Digging all your art Riley. The style was different when I started getting Proof, but I can't imagine anyone else doing as good a job as you've done with it. You and Alex got a great book going.

Really great work there - though I am scared about the elephant on the scooter.... I might have nightmares.

Riley is that color strip Ginger? She didn't have her braid, so I was wondering.

#6 was really great, my favorite issue so far. I am stoked about this new arc.

Way to go guys, I just love when I find a good comic and then it gets even better.

I hope Riley doesn't mind if I answer for him. Issue nine is the "style issue," which means that some of our cast is getting little makeovers. Some characters are changing just a tiny bit to make them work better or to make them easier for Riley to draw.

Our inspiration for it was those old X-Men issues in which everybody takes a day off from fighting Toad and Blob and they all go do their own things. We wanted to see what the folks at The Lodge do on their day off.

Issue 10 will commence more action, but Ginger will keep her ponytail for a while, instead of braids and there are a couple of other semi-permanent changes to look for too.

#6 was really great, my favorite issue so far. I am stoked about this new arc.

Thanks, Pigkiller (may I call you Pig?) ;)

We really appreciate your support!

The book is kicking butt. I'm so proud of Riley and Alex. If you're in Calgary this weekend, come out to the Calgary Expo and support Proof. Riley will be there, and he will be doing sketches.

Click here for info on The Calgary Expo. (http://www.calgaryexpo.com)

I wish I could be there but I'm trapped in the land of poutine, nice shoes, and snottiness. (Quebec!)

Does the book still have those cryptoid things scattered throughout?
