Who was the best of the 2000's recruits and should be put back on a team?
I didn't include the current 2000's recruits like Emma or Hisako since they are on teams. Also, could not include EVERYONE because it was a busy year for a lot of new X-Men and the poll maxes out at ten.
Feel free to throw out Juggs, Sabretooth, Mystique, Lady Mastermind, etc. I just went with mostly characters who have not been on a team for quite some time, minus Karima.

Husk, I guess, maybe Chamber.

The non-Magneto Xorn. While I ultimately got confused by the character, I thought the idea of this kung-fu mutant with a star for a brain would be a great idea. He could have very much been a Wise Man character.
No-Face Chamber, also.

1.Moonstar would be my first choice.
2.Chamber pre Apocalypse look.
3.Lady Mastermind was also one of my favorites during Carey's X-Men run.
4.My fourth choice would have been Karima. The rest just hold no interest for me.

Sage is the obvious answer. She is currently languishing in comic book purgatory.
I predict 0 votes for Neal Sharra.

I liked Thunderbird (III), though wasn't keen on his inheriting the codename for no reason. Why all the hate for him? I really don't get it. O.o

I vote Northstar. But Moonstar and Karma are up there as well for me. The others I pretty much hate.
Lifeguard.slipturd.tbird III can all never be in a comic I read ever again.

CRAP. So many choices!
1. Moonstar
2. Chamber
3. Northstar
4. Omega Sentinel
5. Husk
I also liked Lifeguard, but not enough to choose her over any of the above.
I think I'll go with Moonstar. But Chamber is a VERY close second.
By the way, pryde, that is an AWESOME avatar!

Hey the Guthries are important to Marvel, there are potential mutants there who just need to hit puberty and get their powers still. "Screw M-Day, we have the Guthries!"

Maybe Lifeguard if she didn't bring Slipstream or Thunderbird III along with her.

I wouldn't mind Slipstream as a villain. It worked in "The End" mini. Give him his powers back and turn him evil, driven to kill his sister. Seriously, it would be a great way to bring him back and make him a good character.

I voted for Xorn just because I liked him very much before the whole “I’m Magento!“ face. I dare say he’s on my mutant top ten list right up there with Maggot and Seamus Mellencamp, and no I’m not joking.

Hmm. That could be interesting. He was certainly sickened by his sister's transformation. I thought her look was great, though.
I missed Husk when I made my choice, though. I actually liked her during Austen's run, despite the icky moments like stripping off for sex in sight of her mother and the other X-Men.

I voted for Omega Sentinel, because, well, cyborgs are the cat's meow.
I liked Thunderbird (III), though wasn't keen on his inheriting the codename for no reason. Why all the hate for him? I really don't get it. O.o
Well, let's see:
1) He was introduced as this suave ladies' man character - territory already covered by Gambit.
2) His powers were generic fire-powers with no real defining features to them - nothing unique that set him apart from guys like Sunspot, Sunfire, Firestar, Firelord, or any other fire-wielder. Plus, his codename was a recycled one (never a good sign).
3) With these facts in mind, something was needed to differentiate him from the crowd. He needed to be developed. But that didn't happen - instead he got the "generic newbie" spot and spent a lot of his time hiding behind the old guard like Psylocke and Storm. Some issues he didn't even speak (and in some of the ones he did talk, all he actually pointed out was that he was the new guy)!
4) Psylocke started throwing herself at him for no discernible reason, which made her look like a total tramp, Archangel look like a jealous jerk, and Neal like a clueless buffoon. In short, none of them came out of it looking very good. The break-up of Warren & Betsy was dreadfully done (admittedly, it was rushed because of Claremont being shunted to X-Treme X-Men, but still, it really didn't come off very well).
5) The new start he got in X-Treme X-Men only served to make him look worse - Betsy dies within the first three issues, he has a single outburst over her death (the culmination of which made me laugh: Bishop said that Psylocke didn't make it into his history books, but Neal did. Given his lack of activity up to that point, it was hard to take that seriously at all), and then only a short time later he's chatting up Lifeguard, using the same kind of oily lines he'd been using on Betsy. Classy, Neal, real classy.

I still don't understand what happened there. Ok, so Betsy never had great taste in men, being so attracted to the boredom that was Cyclops, and then Warren's utter blandness, but Neal Shaara was beyond compare in dullness. But she was somehow render powerless against his non-existent charms. Suave ladies man? I must have missed the panel where he exhibited that particular facet of his character.
Then Warren just said, 'forget it, you obviously don't love me. We're through', and about five minutes later, she's crawling all over the Delhi Dimwit. To be honest, the whole Revanche mess made more sense than this.

His introduction in X-Men #100 speaks of his passion matching Psylocke's as they dance in zero-gravity (in what, presumably, was supposed to be a sensual fashion). And then it all went wrong, with Neal displaying all the passion of a wet cabbage for the rest of his presence in the books.
Then Warren just said, 'forget it, you obviously don't love me. We're through', and about five minutes later, she's crawling all over the Delhi Dimwit. To be honest, the whole Revanche mess made more sense than this.
Well, as I say, that was sort of tacked-on to sort the whole mess out - had Claremont stayed on, Dunderbird would have been a momentary distraction, and Warren & Betsy would have been fine afterwards. But that break-up was horrible - she acts like she's all broken up by Warren dumping her, and then she's giving the Dimwit sexy gifts... at which all of Warren's supposed friends laugh uproariously. The guy's just broken up with someone for whom he gave up some of his actual lifespan, and yet his friends can't be bothered to be at least a little sensitive?
Some friends they are...

I would have chosen Sage, Thunderbird, Lifeguard (but give her a new name sheesh), Husk, Omega Sentinel, and Moonstar. Go-go Claremazons Forever!
Also, you forgot Stacy X and Juggernaut! What's up with that?!
(also Mystique, Lady Mastermind, and Sabretooth, but... screw them)
Xorn (the good one)

I could live with the Apocalypse Junior thing, i wasn't hugely keen on the idea but it had the potential to become an interesting development (if used well by writers)... Do you think it's 'cos her power is so disgusting and gruesome looking that she's being SHUNNED?!
I know he's widely hated but I loved Thunderbird III 'cos he was the first new character I encountered when I came in to comics from the cartoons, video games and films. I usually don't like fiery powered characters either, but his were sorta more unique (to me since I'd only encountered the likes of human torch flames before) And he's Indian! That's cool right?! I am going to use my weird elimination logic. Which is this character is already being used and only so many people can you fit X-men comic.
Chamber- is in a full former mutant book” New Warriors"
Sage-is in a X- based book Exiles
Omega sentinel-in a X-men book
Moonstar-All the important members of New Mutants seem to be alive and it looks like some sort reunion is going to happen. Which better than X-spot to me
Which just leave Husk, Xorn, Northstar, Lifeguard, and Slipstream. Lifeguard is the best choice out of all those guys I think.

Every character has potential - this is an undeniable fact. A character that sits at the back of a roster twiddling his thumbs while the old guard do almost all the talking, however, can be said to have squandered that potential to a criminal level.
Not to mention that the only thing of note that he ever did was Psylocke...
(that being said, I did write three fanfics with him as the lead character, so it's not as if he doesn't have any sort of dramatic worth)
I say Husk
she has such untappe potential
a good writer like carey could do so much with her
