Thanks What Im going to do is something Like you said. I wrote a few fanfics based on the aussie era suit. She got it modified around her waist. Since it was a lot of solo missions it gave her flexibility.
So thats how I designed it.
Gonna take a while for painting modeling etc..

Maybe just depends on the situation, Cronin did let discussions on previews though, and CMIIW, he also let last month's review thread by Arrogantur ( I think cause Arrogantur's review was quite neutral).
I actually really dig Cronin's review on the book, although I only follow New Exiles due to Psylocke being currently in it.

Quite a dream you had there. Well, if the rumours are true (psylocke being back to 616 in 2009), I think November is a reasonable timing to announce the news.

Lady Mandarin: As far as I'm aware, Revanche has gone back to non existence since reality was returned to normal. Had she not, I would have gladly crushed her beneath my heel.

This figure was done for me by the fine folk at Boskoes' Toys. Commissar Braddock is one of my favourite characters from my own fanfic, because she's so decidedly evil (she's an unrepentant killer with a fondness for sword-play). Red Army officers FTW!

I woudln't call her character ruined yet. It's only one issue where Lady Madarin fully taken control of Betsy.

On the other hand, I think it's great seeing Betsy train her fighting skill. It's time for her to be the warrior she always wanted to be.

It'd be interesting to see what will happen next issue. Maybe Betsy'll forced out of the current body and enter her alternate-dying british telepathic body?

Or maybe Lady Mandarin will fight Diana Fox (Sage's other persona) and both ladies will be reverted to their original power?

I'm quite torn about Nicieza. At one point I really like his story when Betsy and Kwannon searched about their identity. But he was not good on Betsy's continuity (body swap thing) and there's also..the Scott thing.

Carol got her design help for that costume from Janet Van Dyne! When Carol made Rogue wear that costume,Rogue complained about Carol having no taste and "the next trashcan I find, it's gone!".Wear in Betsy objected.

Eh I'm tired of people complaining about that one-shot. I mean the story was shallow sure, but it was just an action issue and it was just supposed to be fun. Nothing to take seriously.

Inside the estate, Psylocke is having words with the officials in charge of the Sentinels and asks if this is the kind of protection they are here to provide. She notes that there are forty-two children dead and that they are burying fifteen of them because even in death their parents didn’t want them back. Sentinel squad leader, Alexander Lexington tells her this wasn’t their fault. Bishop tries to get Psylocke to back off but she won’t, questioning why they tolerate their presence at all if this is what they have to offer.

Colonel Reyes steps up and tells Psylocke that their presence is not up for debate and that the X-Men chose to circumvent the Sentinels to smuggle the human students out. Bishop retorts that O*N*E would have not let them leave if they had gone through proper channels. Lex jumps in to say they’re here to help and Psylocke tells him they’ve done a brilliant job of that as Bishop holds her back.

The squabbling is interrupted by Val Cooper who tells them that’s enough. She says that this was a terrible tragedy and they are all sympathetic to the loss the school has suffered and will help find those responsible. She adds that if anyone is to blame it’s Emma Frost.

Well, she does have a very distinct voice. It's british, but in an Asian body. How DO you wrute that? Most American writers struggle to write good British dialogue well, as it is, let alone with the other complications... :biggrin:

Right now, Betsy should be on Captain Britain & MI:13, where she'd be getting a much higher profile treatment, be interacting with her brother, and actually return home for a change. There's so much scope for development there. She's honestly very unlikely to get that on any X-title, anytime soon.

I really enjoyed Kelly's Psylocke, even though he mentioned not feeling like he had a handle on the character. Yost's done an excellent job too whenever he used her.

Despite all the crap nuClaremont gets, I do think his handling of Betsy was one of the few highlights on his return to the X-Men. She was the best thing he had going in Reload Uncanny, and I'd say he did a lot of good work in restoring her core character after the generally unkind 1990s. He may have fumbled Rachel and wasted Kurt, but he did Betsy justice.

Millar's Ultimate Betsy rocked too, though I was disappointed he bothered aping the body swap.


Besty joining MI-13 would be a dream come true... but if she leaves neXiles, I don't see the X-Books giving her up. My guess is she goes to Uncanny or X-Force (or both?).

Totally agree with you guys. If there's a character that's related to both the British and the X-Men, it's Betsy. It's just beyond me that she hasn't been an official member of the Excalibur yet. I think she would be great on Cap Brit & MI:13.

I also would like to see Ellis wrote her in a book he's writing. I think he's great with British characters. Were there any other Psylocke's appreances in Ellis' books other than the Excalibur's DOFT?

Totally. She was a guest member for Excalibur vol 2, of course.

Right now, Betsy should be on Captain Britain & MI:13, where she'd be getting a much higher profile treatment, be interacting with her brother, and actually return home for a change. There's so much scope for development there. She's honestly very unlikely to get that on any X-title, anytime soon.

Captain Britain & MI:13 is totally the best place for her for all the reasons you mentioned. Psylocke's one of those characters that to me no longer really fits with the X Men. Obviously she'll always have ties to them, but right now there's a better place for her to be other than the X books. Unlike someone like Gambit, who also no longer fits with the X men, but has no place to go.

Plus if anyone can make sense of all the crazy stuff thats happened to Betsy over the last 15 years, it's Cornell. After all those years writing Doctor Who, Betsy should be a doddle.

I found her Hand outfit to be one of the best she ever wore. Her Psy-blade was such a fun concept. I loved how it was the "totality of her psychic powers." (although I got annoyed with her continually repeating that line each time she used it.)

If, and when, Psylocke is freed from Claremont's current mess, I'd love to see her come back as a strong, adventure hungry ninja. I bet she'd have been a perfect addition to X-Force.

Wolverine recalls the days when he and Psylocke used to swap war stories over a few drinks. He recalls one particular evening, when Betsy regaled him with a tale about the time she came up against a cyber-enhanced thug. In the story, the thug is wired-up and seemingly unstoppable, keeping Betsy on her toes all the way. Despite being involved in an explosion, which envelops the thug in flames, he continues to fight. His brain has software running it and his pain sensors appear to have been bypassed. Throughout the story, Wolverine has little friendly digs at her, though Betsy gives as good as she gets. The thug fails to go down when hit with her psychic blade, but a kick in the face and a couple of follow up hits put him down. However, he isn’t finished and it takes Psylocke to smash his head in to finally stop his rampage. However, two more similarly powered thugs then attack. Betsy tells Logan that it wasn’t funny at the time, though it’s more so in retrospect. Those were the days. Betsy’s loss deeply saddens Logan. All he has left of her now are stories about war stories.

Yeah that's pretty wierd. I assumed that all the X-writers at that moment didn't have any storyline that involved Betsy. Other than Uncanny, she's just wallpaper in the X-Books. She's going to miss X-Infernus, she won't be in the new noir event (which i think is basically the x-men in Sin Cityscape), and she won't be in War of Kings( which is fine) but she's still missing out. i don't think she'll be back for a while. which sucks i was hoping for end of the year surprise.

CMIIW, didn't the original reason for Pyslocke to be in Exiles was to deal with Proteus (since she's immune to reality manipulation)?

Claremont said that the Proteus situation will be dealt at this year end in the New Exiles annual.

You really didn't miss anything at all. She's only in about three or four pages and it was just very lackluster.

My favorite line of Betsy's in the book is something like.. "I'm very tempted, but that's not my style", when the French Ruler asked if she was there to kill him.

Having read Nexiles 10, i pretty much agree with CMX that there were just few pages of Psylocke.

Regarding the plot:
Having finished the training with Ogun, she was fully became Lady Mandarin and flew straight to Paris(France) to meet their emperor which turn out to be Wolverine.
Then the Emperor tried to control Lady Mandarin claiming that Ogun promised him the ultimate warrior. It turned out that during her training Ogun was conditioning Lady Mandarin psyche to serve the France. Turned out that having Lady Mandarin controlled, (the real) Betsy was able to break free from Lady Mandarin soul and forced the France Emperor the end the war.

Regarding Ogun/Lady Mandarin.. I was quite confused myself. But yeah, I do think he deceived Betsy. Ogun didn't tell Betsy because he knew that Lady Mandarin is inside Betsy's body. And the only way he can conditioned Lady Mandarin/Betsy was to encourage her to train (giving her the Slaymaster motivation). And i agreed, a little hint about the connection between Ogun and the Emperor would've made it clearer. Perhaps it's just CC telling a twist in his story.

At the end of the day, apart from the main story itself, I think CC also used this subplot as a way to have Betsy train her martial art skills from the master. I just wish she's keeping the armor..

Um so Betsy and Sage both were controlled by a second party and both kind of got out of it the same way...Seriously ....seriously..how can people still like a book that doesnt even focus on the main characters but Force-X. Elizabeth Glorianna "Betsy" Braddock's father was James Braddock Sr. and he used to live in a different dimension. He was sent to earth to create the ultimate protector, Captain Britain. He ended up having twins, Elizabeth and Brian. Betsy and her twin brother's lives were anything but normal. Betsy was born and raised in England in a small town called Maldon, Essex. Psylocke was one of the few Marvel characters that were actually given a birth date. She was born a bit after midnight on April 23, 1956. (Since comics characters never age, her year of her birth will probably vary.) Their parents died at a young age and they had many adventures growing up. Her twin brother Brian began pursuing physics as a major during college while Betsy decided to become a charter pilot.

One day Betsy received news that her brother Jamie had been injured in an accident, so Betsy called Brian and the two flew back to their mansion in Britain. Their plane crashed after a psychic attack when they began to close in on the mansion. Next Betsy would be influenced by mind control by Dr. Synne. They would be able to restrain Betsy but it was nothing short of easy. Next Brian would defeat Synne and he would lose control over one of his agents, who would reveal that he was truly working for the Red Skull. Brian and Betsy would team up with Captain America to defeat the Red Skull, this is when Betsy first used her newly manifested powers. Betsy discovered that she had precognitive abilities that grew to telepathic powers. Betsy's hair started to turn purple around this time, it was mentioned that the reason her hair changed color was because of her mutation puberty.

For a long time, Betsy had lost track of her brother because of his adventures in America and other dimensions. Betsy would soon quit her charter pilot job and pursue a career in modeling. When Brian decided to go overseas to college, Betsy contacted S.T.R.I.K.E. psychically to try and join them. She was recruited into the British agency, S.T.R.I.K.E.'s Psi Division. During her time there, she would develop romantic relationships with fellow S.T.R.I.K.E. members. Her twin brother Brian, would eventually become Captain Britain. While working with S.T.R.I.K.E. one of her assignments was to infiltrate the Hellfire Club (her father was the Black Bishop of the London branch), but the mission was soon abandoned when she encountered Sage who warned her to stay away.

This had to do , I believe with Betsy getting the best of Rogue during a training exercise. Betsy got the best of rogue and smashed her into a rock using illusion. Rogue got pissed that she did it. She was probably also pissed that Psylocke, with no fighting skill, held out against sabretooth when she got Kayo'ed.

She also probably got miffed when Psylocke did it to her again during another training run.
Psylocke did this to her Several times. so there was a touch of animosity. Also probably had to do with Psylocke being the "Southern Belle, Proper Lady" Rogue always wanted to be.

The most unrealistic thing about Jamie retooling her is the fact he remolded faux-Asian Psylocke. His powers allow him to pull at the strings of reality and sew them in what fashion he chooses...so why the faux-Asian Betsy 2.0 (or 3.0 at this point).

Jamie's reanimation of his sister would have been the perfect launching point to return Psylocke to her roots (if that were to occur). He could have formed her as shown above, or even something like this:

In UXM 256 Claremont wrote a scene where Betsy may have displayed first signs of her telepathy during her adolescence. She was arguing with Brian and then suddenly, for a few seconds, both of them were adults fighting on some kind of battlescape in warrior garb. Brian was shocked that she did that, but then Betsy kind of blew it off and changed the subject. It was kinda nebulous but I think you can take that as an early sign of her unknowingly using her telepathy.

I'm totally loving Psylocke in the cartoon. She seems to get more screen time then she did in the original cartoon. I'm assuming she'll be a reoccurring character like Pietro and Domino. Sweet!

Psylocke is at a cafe, she sees an officer about to ticket a mother and her kids because the mother parked illegally. Betsy use her powers and make the officer eat the ticket and leave lol. That's when Pietro arrives. He says that if she keeps using her powers like that again, he'll have to rescue her from the anti-mutant prison... again. And Betsy is all like "So I guess it's time for me to return the favor". So, Pietro have Betsy blocking Nitro's powers so that the Brotherhood can take the latter to Genosha, but the X-Men stop them. That's when Emma and Psylocke fight, and well.. she loses. :( lol

Yes. She's high class and he's very much working class. It would be interesting to see.

I'd think that she would get on with Faisa very well. They both come from very traditional families, and yet have a rebellious side. I think they'd have plenty to talk about.

Sorry, dude. Technically, yes. Although there was a plot reason why it had to happen. But we did never see his body revert to Skrull form. So never say never.

The cast on this book is going to rotate quite a bit. Next issue Blade joins, and the issue after that we'll have Captain Midlands and Union Jack show up. Tink's still knocking around too.

I really hope they'd let her go to MI:13. Uncanny's so dreadful right now, IMO, I'd prefer she'd stay with the Exiles if Uncanny's where she'd go. I truly and sincerily like New Exiles, be it shameful or not :tongue:

If Fraction's writing picks up in the "Lovelorn" arc that he's doing by himself, I might have a little more faith in him. I mean, Iron Fist and Invincible Iron Man are top notch.

Maybe it's the fact that he's centering it all in Scott and Emma in the bedroom. Or just Scott and Emma. That'll always be a bit problematic for me :frown:

But if he can work Betsy into a good role and not just a faceless cameo by Land (which would be unfortunate), maybe I'll approve more.
