I'm so getting this the arc where she'll make an appearance. Many have said that Weapon X is the best Wolverine ongoin at the moment. So I'm really hoping we'll see a lot of her there.

I love it that Betsy is currently EVERYWHERE (Uncanny, The List, Legacy-Necrosha, MUA2 and soon her mini). What we really need now is really good writing focusing on her. I expect that to happen in the mini but would love to see it also in the main x-books

British Betsy was the best. A somewhat shady character who wanted to be appreciated for her tenacity but was always held back by the perceptions people had about her upbringing and background. I loved that she had less qualms about using her telepathy in nefarious( I don;t get to say that word often ^_^) ways. I loved that she wanted to be a warrior but her telepathy didn't really suit that "action junkie" persona she wanted to have.

Cool I think it's a good chance she'll be DLC. She'll probably have TP/crimson dawn powers. Psi-blade and cloak herself from enemies. I wanted TP Pyslocke so I'm happy. I see her using a TP wave for the humans and up close psi-blade combat for robots. Can't wait.

I haven't read any posts since I last posted because I'm way behind on reading and don't want to spoil any Betsy goodness for myself. I just got done reading X-men: The List and I couldn't believe her butterfly signature appeared....although it was on Bobby. I did enjoy Betsy calling him "Robert", like she did way back in UXM #273 if I remember correctly when he was horsing around with Boom Boom and ran into Betsy in the hallway.

So I'm on cloud 9 right now and won't get a chance to read Nation X until next week. See ya then!! :biggrin:

So, by now everyone's commented on the Psylocke preview art, but I'm wondering as to folks' opinions on the artist's rendering of the Hand outfit. While I know the 'thongkini' has polarized fans (I happen to like it), I think Harvey Tolibao does an exquisite job of drawing Betsy's outfit. If it's as wonderfully drawn in the rest of the series as it is in those previews, Tolibao's thongkini may well rank up there with the likes of Jim Lee and Marc Silvestri.

I'm sorry, but no. Her inclusion would mean Cloak would have to be included as well; there aren't enough spots for playable characters and they'll end up being the next unused Elektra or Ghost Rider. Also, there are other more interesting characters out there with better powers who would be so much more fun to play.

Magneto? Ugh, we already have Jean, Psylocke, Songbird and Invisible Woman who all have "telekensis" type powers.

They didn't seem to have enough melee characters. (Well maybe I just didn't use the ones they had because I wasn't a fan of them). I played Wolverine a lot though.

Yeah I really like all the characters I always have Psylocke on my team (of course) and usually Cap. America as well.

The only characters I never use are the Fantastic Four, Penance and Blade. They're lame IMO.

I suspect they included characters with overlapping powersets because it's a programming shortcut. Magneto, Jean Grey and the Invisible Women all have similar in-game abilities, so the only thing that would need to be altered are the visual representations. It's certainly lazy programming, though, haha. Isn't She-Hulk going to be a system-exclusive playable character? Also, I find it very odd that Jean is involved in this game considering she wasn't alive during Civil War.

In lieu of Dagger, obviously I'd say Dazzler would have more potential for an interesting powerset and history with the MU characters. However, putting aside my own bias and continuing with the light-based power theme, I would have loved to see Karolina of Runaways as a playable character.

As far as other female characters, Nico (also from Runaways) would have been a cool successor to Dr. Strange who isn't in this installment. M and Siryn could have been fun additions, too.

BUUUUUT, back on topic (my apologies!), I would LOVE to see Psylocke have a British costume choice in the game. I really hope the game is eventually released on the PC because the mod potential there is so much more amenable to giving people what they want!

Psylocke confirmed as MUA2 DLC character!

Hi VIPs,

Today is going to be a really quick note as I know everyone is on the edge of their seats for the reveal. Just wanted to say that there is also going to be some news today on what you are getting over and above characters for DLC… yes, there will be very cool additional gameplay. Tune in to GameSpot to find out details.

And most of you guessed by now why I’m personally excited about today! The reward goes to those who have followed me since the beginning, you all know who my favorite character is outside of Gambit… I can’t wait until you see how true to form this one looks like in-game.

Back before Street Fighter IV came out, they interviewed the game director about what he has coming next. It certainly wasn't an "official" announcement, but he said he seriously wanted to do a Marvel vs Capcom III in the style of SFIV.

It's all relative though. I'm thinking we'd mabye get ten or eleven fighters on each side. So I'd think that in terms of public awareness or popularity, there are a lot of characters ahead of Betsy. Video-game wise, psylocke is up there. She is right behind storm as the leading lady of the x. The only reason she didn't make it in xml2, is because scott lobdell(psi-war) wrote it and its no secret he hates her. He hates her so much that she is the last character featured in xml1, and when you pick up a spotlight comic, notice you cannot obtain psylocke's.


Anyway tho, mvc3! <3 maybe they can do a 4 way tag team with psylocke, rogue, cammy, and chun-li. <3

I would really loved if they add jean. She was awesome in the mugen series.

I'm also not big on the hair like that. It's too loose. Betsy really shouldn't wear her hair in anything other than a tight ponytail. It's just not practical when you're a martial artist when hair gets in your face all the freaking time.

I like the outfit! The corset/torso is my favorite part, but the ensemble as a whole would look much better with pants/leggings. Get her OUT of the underwear look already! The garter is a necessary evil, I suppose, unless she had a scabbard on her back for the sword. I don't mind the free-flowing hair so much; most of her outfits have been very impractical, so I can overlook the hair in light of her history wearing thongs into battle, lol.

Also, I love how the artist gave us the all too important butt shot.

Gorgeous I love it! The HoM look was one of the best designs! Too bad it didn't stick. Larroca drew her in it acouple of times afterwards I guess he took a liking to it?

Too bad they are only doing one alternate look for each character... I'd have loved to have seen her New Exiles look done for the game, but I can't complain! I'm happy with what we've got.

I agree. I loved everything about it. I liked that it was all black, the nice little details, the straps, the hair cut was really really cute.

It was great, I don't see why she can't just wear something like that? It's basically the hand outfit only it looks modern.

I wish they'd let Dodson just redesign the hand outfit. It would still be recognizable for Marvel to be happy but it would be less outdated looking. Kinda like Wolverine's current look that Cassady/Bianchi gave him.
