Psylocke's power feats since her return:
- Ability to hear the thoughts of at least one person.
- Ability to project her thoughts into the mind of at least one person.
- Ability to alter the perceptions of at least one person.
- Ability to focus her energy into a psychic knife or blade to incapacitate someone.
- Ability to focus her energy into a psychic sword or katana to incapacitate someone. Well, we will see it judging by the Exodus preview. I will be keeping tabs on her power stunts. I must know everything about her lol.

I'm actually happy Betsy and Warren weren't thrown back together. I so want a single Psylocke for a while. I am also ecstatic that her TP is slowly coming back. Is her TK getting weaker as a result?

As for your question, since her return to her proper reality, she has not yet displayed any telekinetic abilities, even though she has stated that she is still primarily telekinetic. We have seen Exodus previews where she uses her telekinetic sword/katana though.

I think Fraction will keep her abilities kinda mysterious until her mini is over, probably to see what Yost will do with her abilities in her mini first.

Betsy could certainly try, but Emma is probably strong enough to resist being psychically drained and might possibly end up draining Psylocke instead. Right now, Emma is the top female telepath. Betsy is just getting her telepathy back and may not be as powerful as she once was.

This is HOT!

And I'm glad Betsy will appear in a Wolverine title. I'm sick to death of Logan, but his friendship with Betsy was always endearing. I liked that they respected each other and treated each other as equals without any silly sexual tension.

Wow this is really unexpected great news! I was going to start picking up Weapon X starting with the insane asylum arc anyway, but this is just icing on the cake!

It pains me to see that some fans at some other forums think Psylocke had a better situation last year with CC starring in NewExiles and that now she's just a Cameo Queen. Really, Uncanny X-Men, Psylocke Mini, Weapon X, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, possibly Legacy. Cameo Queen my ass! This is the best year ever since her resurrection. /end rant.

Victoria Bentley helped Betsy through her grief. Betsy said that Victoria showed her how to use Tom's death to make her stronger (both emotionally and psychically)--which we saw when Betsy took out 10 or so attackers with one psi-attack.

I hated that Psylocke never got a rematch after Creed mauled her and the same for Vargas.

Both are dead now, Claremont had PLENTY of time to make these two stories happen and the most we got was a rematch with AoA Sabretooth (which doesn't count) and a danger room fight with an artifical Creed and an artifical Vargas. Boo.

Ugh. The Vargas hate is brutal here. The concept of the character was quite good--evolved human that was better than mutants or something like that. He killed Betsy which made me kinda dislike him, but overall I figured he'd be a cool enemy for the X-men if he gained a team or something. Then he practically got killed off panel by the X-characters biggest jokes...the Marauders. A man who did well against Beast, Rogue, Psylocke and Gambit should have gotten more respect than to get killed by Harpoon or any of those characters. If she was to be in the british body it should have already happened during the "sisterhood story". To stretch the whole thing to a mini would just be tedious imo.

Besides if the story is supposed to be about identity. Identity in my opinion is a mental thing not physical. She is not in the body she was born with but she is still Betsy Braddock not someone controlled by Matsuo or anyone else.

I did kinda understand that the her solo story would take place right after the Sisterhood arc so the story may have already happened. We just have to wait to see it.

I never really got the "mysterious hooded persona" though. As for outfits and armors it would be nice to see her wear something new. As many people already mentioned the wet suit looked good. They could also use the Lady Mandarin armor.

I'm disappointed at the game footage only because it seems like the Wii/PS2 version is going to be very different especially visually. I know they can't look exactly the same because the PS3 & Xbox360 are so powerful, but it looks old school XML to me. I'm definitely getting the PS3 version, but it sucks a lot that Psylocke won't be on it. And I've never connected my ps3 to the net so I don't think I would be able to get downloadable content (but I doubt they'll release her on it anyway).

Oh well, I'm very excited for Jean at least! They just need to release a new X-men only game. I don't like or know about the rest of the Marvel Universe.

I'm just tired of getting a tiny glimpse of hope to see Brit Betts in full glory only to have her demolished by something else yet again.

I was a huge fan of Asian Psylocke when I was a kid but for some reason I was always very interested in her switching back to British Betsy more. And I waited like ten years from the time I first started reading until Fraction brought the British plot back so I was angry when he did the same thing. I don't really want to deal with that again. I know she'll never be British again in the main books, but from the limited info I know now I don't know if this book appeals to me since I'm not into the ninja thing or Japan much anymore :confused:

I mean, if it's good I'll definitely buy it but for right now I'm just going to spoil the first issue for myself first before I'm in. I really don't buy anything besides XMF and Uncanny so I'm not familiar with most of the MU or different writers so I'm not sure of much.

What lol? It's not that serious. Normally I wouldn't have said as much but if someone wants to not buy something that's preferential then they have the right to do so. I don't have a lot of money so I don't want to waste it on something I might not enjoy. I'm sure there are many Dazzler fans who wouldn't necessarily want to buy a goth Dazzler Ultimate solo either. It's a completely different character. Why should I be grateful about something I'm not too sure I like much anymore? I still and will always PREFER the British form, But i've gotten over the body swap thing. I can simply enjoy the books again which is the goal.

I actually agree with you. I was pretty obsessed with British Betsy too. Not because I thought she was better, but because I think living inside someone else's body is stupid. But after the Sisterhood storyline I finally accepted that that's never going to happen and it feels really good and I do enjoy Psylocke more! I'm kinda glad Sisterhood happened Lol.

my first x-men comic was the Proteus reprint in Classic X-Men. Loved it. My second x-men issue was a current one at that time (the issue after Storm was kidnapped by Nanny in the Outback). Loved it. But my absolute favorite? Psylocke. British Betsy. The funny thing is, from that issue till the X-Tiction Agenda, I only picked up X-Men randomly off the store stand. I did not have standing order so I missed a lot of issues. I read some issues here and there and really thought Betsy was awesome. Then I read an issue in the store where she reappeared in MAdripoor with Wolverine and did not fully read the context to understand that she was in a japanese body. I just tot she had a new costume and longer hair style. Back then the purple hair was all that you noted. The funny thing is I accepted that Betsy evolved into a fighter but it was many issues later when I found that the transformation by the hand that they kept refering to did not just mean that she changed in attitude and looks, but that she really is in a different body!

But I did not care, I thought she was cool before and she is cool now, I just saw it as a change in attitude and personality like Storm went through during the mohawk days. My only problem was that they retconed the Claremont story in favor of an actualy body swap with Kwannon. But it has been close to 18 years that Betsy has been in the new body. And since James Bradrock created her new body for her (ASian form) Betsy is in a body all her own, not one she was swapped into. Can't we just get past it?

Would it help if they gave her a Warren Worthington type of transformation between her appearance?

Im gonna play the devil's advocate here and say im the minority. I always thought that is what makes psylocke so interesting: being the only character of her time to permanently live in someone else's body. And in all honesty. They both look just alike, only one body has more asian looking eyes than the other.

Being that I was never introduced to british betsy, I can see why many of yall loved her as I grew to do. She was written almost flawlessly. Even tho I also wanted her to return british, I am still happy with eurasn liza.

I realized as well, psylocke is a character who constantly changes. Every 2-3 years, she does something drastically different from the rest. You can pull out a comic from 1987, 1992, 2005, and 2009 and see that betts constantly evolves from the good and the bad. I guess that's why I am such a huge betsy fan. :)

Now that she's been freed of the "IN YOUR FACE!!!!!" TK powers, I'm hoping the new (or is it old? heh) powerset will help her (and the writers) do that!

Matsuo is probably gonna go after his lover again and with Psylocke bringing the body with her its possible the body will play once again into the story. Just wondering if anyone knew if The hand and Matsuo are still buds and if the hand does revive the british body again would that be interesting. Meaning if the hand revives you, you should come back in your original state so:

1. Matsuo revives Brit Betsy to get his lover revanche back.

2. When Hand revives you, you're at your original state which should mean that revanche wouldn't inhabit that body, but Betsy would. This Betsy would have memories up until she were switched meaning the mind switch thing wouldn't register. This also means that this may be pre-ninja Betsy so she would keep her more devious methods of fighting.

3. Matsuo has a total WTF moment as there are now 2 psylocke's running around. He realizes that because this is betsy true body that Kwannon wouldn't be in it. He then realizes that he must kill the Ninja body and revive that one to get Kwannon back.

4. He fails and we now have 2 Betsy Braddocks. One Ninja. One Telepathic Diva. Matsuo becomes a Psylocke rogue because for him to get his love back he'd have to kill Ninja body Psylocke then revive it.

What I understand from his response is that he thinks Psylocke needs a new look along with Gambit. I don't think he's going to design one for sure, but it seems as though he'd be up for it if asked by an editor/writer I guess.

The last time I recall them interacting (and this is just from what I remember) is way back when Joe Mad was still drawing Uncanny. Psylocke was piloting the blackbird and communicating with Bobby and he made a comment regarding Betsy's new attitude courtesy of the crimson dawn.

Okay, Psylocke IMO is the type of girl that needs a man with balls of steel. (or brass whatever) She needs a hardass and not a softy. Hence why Iceman isn't a great choice. he doesn't have his mental shit together and when and if something happens to besty I can't really see him "getting the job done" to save her. I love Iceman, but no. She'd make him feel to inferior.

Kurt is another character I say no to. As religious as he is and as good of friends as they are I just don't see her sometimes killing ways being approved by Kurt. And if pixie can make him feel inferior, I doubt he can handle a woman like Psylocke.

My men of choice besides the obvious Angel:

Cyclops. Yes he is a dick, but he is also the man. Being the lead dick means that your lady is safe. She can join X-force if needed and relay information to him. He can take care of himself and unlike Betsy, he thinks before he actually fights. A very good balance....of course this won't happen with Emma around.

Havok. Just screams the sex. I think they'd be great for each other......I can't quite figure out the why though. He has the qualities of Cyclops with a little Wolverine and Cannonball mixed in. He is a stand alone character, so I worry that this pairing would downgrade her much like his current girlfriend. Still, Besty is no man's lapdog so she should be okay.

Gambit. its so wrong, but I still like. They are both loners so the pairing could be great, but hes rogue's man. I grew up with him and rogue so.....

Colossus. could work. His new personality makes him interesting, but hes not used enough to tell what it is yet. It could work it it isn't stay puff marshmellow colossus.

You have a very good point. Hopefully she will eventually get more panel time throughout the year. I remember reading an interview a while back that said that things were going to slow down and more character-driven stories will be focused on more than the big, action-packed stories.

It also helps that Emma has to stay in diamond form until they figure out what to do about that Void sliver still inside her. I don't like Emma being cut off from her telepathy, but I will endure it if Betsy is allowed to step up her telepathic game beyond the psychic knife.

There aren't many people on the X-Men who I think could carry on the Psylocke mantle if Betsy croaked. Maybe Pixie, if she had her mouth sewn shut like Deadpool in the Wolverine movie. She has the right skill set and the freaky hair, but she's far too annoying.
