Yeah that's him alright! I had always wanted to see his rendition of her! She's as badass looking as I imagined! I wish he'd draw Uncanny! Dodson rotating with Cheung would be the shit.

I was watching G4 and they had the Marvel set up at Comic Con had a huge sign and Psylocke's face was almost front and center. It was the drawing that's on the anniversary frame. I like that artist a lot better.

For fans that are upset that their favorite character hasn't made the list of playables yet, Activision did confirm to Newsarama that they plan on downloadable content, in the form of other characters, at the very least. PS3 gamers won't be left out this time, either (extra characters were Xbox360 exclusive in Marvel Ultimate Alliance). So keep campaigning for your faves, and maybe you'll see them after the game comes out.

They're still going to reveal a new character today during the MUA2 Panel, but I've lost my hopes. Ms Marvel and Penance both appeared in leaked screenshots, so it's probably going to be one of them. :( Some people over the MUA2 official site forums claim Psylocke will be an exclusive character of the Wii version though.

But I'm not going to get my hopes up. A few years back - I can't remember who it was - a writer wanted to do a Betsy/Logan mini. It sounded so cool, they were going to travel around the world and fight The Hand and stuff....but alas, JQ vetoed that - or so I think, I'm not a 100% sure who vetoed it.

I'm excited to hear Psylocke and Wolverine team up. It'll be great to see Jubilee joins them for an adventure but I don't think she'll be the same Jubilee as the one we remembered back in the old days..

And I'm curious about Betsy role in Utopia. Based from the uncolored preview pages of Uncanny 514 we've seen earlier this month, is she going on a spesific mission with the other girls (Domino, Mindee, Moonstar?). I hope she's leading this X-Women squad.

I used to look forward everytime the guy updated the history-section; I learned a lot of Betsy history thanks to him. The guy (Victor?) did a great job, mixing quotes with images and history all at the same time.

It wasn't vetoed by anyone. Claremont killed Psylocke off in Xtreme while the mini was being planned so they had to axe the mini series. Since...... Betsy was dead lol So yeah Claremont is the one to blame yet again.

Well knowing Carey the X-Men he'll use will probably be Cannonball, Iceman, Emma and Beast.

I don't see him using Psylocke especially since the most he was going to do for her was sneak in a cameo here and there sorta like he did with Legacy #226.

I don't understand why wrtiers say it's hard to use Psylocke in their books. I mean none of them have a problem using, Cyclops, Emma, Beast, Wolverine, Angel, Domino, all the x-kids, in multiple titles every month. With Psylocke it seems so impossible.

seriously! i was on a comic book hiatus when the new x-men kids came around but they seem so pointless. it's like they are being shoved down our throats but to me they will never be x-men. i don't care about them and i really think the main x-books should focus on the great established characters that have been around for decades. Psylocke especially. sometimes i just pretend Emma is British Betsy because she basically has a lot of her traits now. that helps me cope with my frustration with her being so omnipresent.

Yeah I hate a lot of the x-kids currently. They are so generic and have no real personality. They definitely pale in comparison to the original New Mutants and the Generation X kids.

The only kid I care for is Laura the rest can all die. Hopefully soon.

Sorry. :/ I used to love Surge and Winddancer, but both have sucked lately.

I actually admit that I'm a bit of a fan of Rockslide though, even most fans hate him. Oh! And I always forget Elixir.

So I guess the only New XMen kids I care about are Laura, Elixir and Santo. Rest can burn.

I hated him during Academy X and when he looked like a Thing knock-off. It wasn't until Yost started writing him, and he under went his transformations and his powers were explained/expanded.

Back on Psylocke though!

I used to like Armor during Whedon's run, but after Fraction and Ellis she's lame.

Kinda like Pixie. I thought she was so adorable when Yost wrote her, she had such a spunky, cute innocent personality.

Then suddenly she's a badass. Okay.

Which X-kids would you like to see Psylocke interact with? I don't see that happening anytime soon especially since Rogue has pretty much taken up that entire role.

Same here. Every now and then I imagine emma in purple and magenta, with purple hair. Gotta shove in a Bloody hell and sod off, in every now and then.

Yeah instead of her on her own. Or without back up. Kinda sucks but I tend to think many writers say they dont know how to write her simply because they dont like her.
It seems that before she went all asian badass, she was written easily. Even when she FIRST became asian badass she was written rather well. I enjoyed her up until the X-books went from 1 to 2 monthlies.

But then that brings back the old argument of her body switch. Which is beyond dead horsitude.:rolleyes:

It was X-Men Unlimited # 8, I believe. Belasco, with the help of Wolverine's nemesis, Bloodscream, kidnapped Psylocke, Beast, Wolverine and Lee Forester in an attempt to... free the N'Garai? I forget. Something involving world domination; of that, I am sure.

Anyway, Belasco remarked that Psylocke would make a more "viable vassel than Illyana" or something to that effect. I haven't read that issue in YEARS, but the reason why I can recall that line is because I remember reading it and not knowing what 'viable' meant, so I had to look it up.

Of course, Psylocke is all kinds of WIN, but Belasco's snide remark about Illyana was full of all kinds of FAIL. He was just hatin' because he was still mad that the Darkchilde kicked his has-been a** three ways to Sunday.

Well Fraction said she would become more prominent in the Marvel universe (apparently not just the x-verse) in the up coming months. And since Nation X is an insane seven issues long I'm imagining she will play a role in that storyline.

I'm hoping mid-arc Dodson returns, I'm not sure I can stand seven issues of Land's terrible "artwork".

Yup, a warrior of European & Asian Psylocke both are cool! The Arcade-version that Capcom made of Psylocke was awesome too!! The Hand-version ninja-costume of Psylocke is fine too, but only if they would change the color to purple instead of blue that match w/ her hair, including that dark-purple cape (that Jim Lee drew UX257) on her would make her look-like a Master-Assassin Warrior Queen-diva!!!:)

Ultimate Psylocke was a really cool version of Betsy. It's such a shame she was killed just for shock value and off panel no less. Yet we have generic versions of Jean, Storm and Rogue still alive? Those three suck in the Ultimate universe.

That’s too sad, ultimate Psylocke was one of my favorites’ in the ultimate universe and had so much potential, I actually thought she would replace Jean (I though Jean would die in ultimatum 5, especially because she is a big reset bottom). Ultimate Dazzler is already dead too :frown:

I chose to believe that the wonderful artist Terry Dodson had to draw a picture in less than 10 minutes and this is the result. Much, much better than anything I could have accomplished in such short time. :biggrin:

The "artist" Mr. Greg Land on the other hand, would have had to search the net for porn and then photoshoped a picture before starting his tracing. :mad:

Well I'm pretty sure that #5 is a con sketch, which was probably done in like half the time of the other pictures. And I think that she looks great in that page from 514 in her new costume.

My favorite is #1. I also like #2 and #4.

#3's Psylocke has too much of a pronounced jaw for my tastes and #5 isn't too bad, but it's just a quick sketch so I won't comment on that.

Peopleofpaper- What about Jubilee in Generation X? I loved the way he drew her back then. I won't complain too much about Dodson's art though. His storytelling skills are good and his characters are attractive--even though sometimes his women tend to have too strong of a jawline.

And that Sheila chick that works at the hospital that's under Trask's control is built like a linebacker. She's got really broad shoulders lol. First time I saw her I was like "damn".

from the little i've seen i didn't really like his art in gen x. i have most of the chris bachalo issues and didn't like the others in comparison so i didn't buy any. i like his art now with most of the x-men, i just don't like his asian psylocke's face. although sometimes the body proportions of the women look a little funny lol.

Seriously. I could understand if they used Ultimatum in a way to weed out the really bad characters or characters that were far too similar to their 616 counterparts. But killing off characters that were a lot different and interesting takes on their 616 counterparts like Dazzler, Psylocke, Emma's students, etc., didn't make sense to me.

Ultimate Betsy has come back before and it looks like Wolverine will return soon, so I wouldn't doubt it if she came back as well. IMO Ult Jean Grey is so boring I don't see why they let her live she's so blah. Plus she already has convoluted Phoenix continuity baggage.

The sad part is she started off so fun and fresh and absolutely saucy, but nobody apparently can do research and get a feel for her new personality. So slowly but surely she degraded back to X-Mom.

I also really liked Ultimate Emma, she was older, had previously dated Xavier and only had diamond skin abilities. Then Kirkman made her a villain and it just made her suck.

I always hoped she'd reveal her telepathy as her secret power.
I'm sorry, but we've got Colossus, keeping her as diamond only is sad. At least telepathy has some creativity in how you use it.
To be honest, I feel like I only liked her because I'm so devoted to 616 Emma.
But she definitely did have her moments of greatness.

Since Psylocke was killed first by Colossus in order to kill Proteus, her psyche went and found a new body to inherit, so her spirit wasn't killed. Wouldn't the same thing happen again?

I'm confused how that works, does that make Ult Psylocke somewhat of an immortal? Or can her psyche only temporarily survive w/out a host?

I just see it as, if she died again in Ultimatum she can just find another host?

I see! Well I don't see myself buying Ultimate Comics X-Men, if it even comes to them relaunching the title. I never found Ultimate Jean, Storm, Rogue interesting. And that book hasn't been good in years I think they should just not relaunch it.

Only Ultimate book I'm going to pick up again is Spider-Man. I'm passing up both Avenger titles spinning out of Ultimatum.

The preview looks great! Finally some action! I'm only disappointed that she isn't in her new costume. But I assume that this was drawn before Dedato even knew about her new costume, or I at least hope so.

this is the small panel you psylocke fans are going crazy for? for all we know that might be all we see of psylocke for that entire issue.

These days you have to take what you can get. Marvel has been pushing Cyclops, White Queen, Beast, and Wolverine for a while now. They're the "it" team. To a lesser extent, Professor X got his time to shine and now Rogue is following suit.

There's another tier of characters that get less panel time than the above characters, but still get little storylines and development like Archangel, Colossus, X-23, Pixie, etc.

Under that you get your recurring characters that rate higher than cameo characters, but less than characters like Colossus. This is Psylocke and the X-Club (minus Beast and Archangel), the Stepford Cuckoos, Nightcrawler, etc.

Then you have your cameo characters such as Dazzler and now Northstar.

I'm just hoping that this wasn't Betsy's true cameo-moment, I hope that she gets a frame or two more at least, with Ali on her side. :wink:

OMG I just had a thought. What if during the Psylocke mini, Yost has Betsy briefly retake the Lady Mandarin mantle to go up against the Hand. I also need to know if there shall be any Madripoor goodness in this.

Betsy will take over The Hand in the mini; she wants to have control over them so they wont mess up her life anymore. She will also use "her ninjas" as a secret army/backup when the mutant war starts.

Or so I heard.

But I agree; there is a danger that this could be Psylocke's Big Moment - I sure hope not - but it could be.
