IDK I could see it going either way. Yeah he is a god and a superb hand to hand combatant but I feel if she uses taps into all her martial arts training plus uses the teke to give her the extra edge she needs I could see her wining.

Spiral would be excellent given their history together. Bionic eyes, body swapping... I mean, the only thing she has in common with Elektra is the whole Hand/ninja thing, wouldn't really matter as much for Betsy as a character as Spiral would.

Sounds to me that this story will have something to do with Kwannon? Maybe she had a kid before the switch, and now Betsy is that kids "mom" in a way? Would fit into the KILL SPIRAL - theme. Vengance, fights, blood, love, kids etc etc!

I'm so glad to be a Psylocke fan right now! I want to squeal like a school girl but I'm trying to keep my composure. Christopher Yost will do an amazing job. He made me like Storm again in the World's Apart mini.

Talibao's art looks cool, though the men in his Ultimate pages were too veiny. The women look good though so we at least know that Betsy will look great.

What happened with that Bianchi cover? Her hair looks like she just got electrocuted or something. Her face looks like she's a vampire. But I do like that she's taking on Ares. :biggrin:

I'll be honest. I will buy that cover just because it's Psylocke, no matter how ugly it is.

Daniel Ketchum: Psylocke's power set has been a mish-mash of things over past few years. But to boil it down for the purposes of our story: Betsy's a little telekinetic and a little telepathic, but mostly, yeah, she's a bad-ass ninja.

I think currently she's beginning to feel the change of her power (still major TK with TP coming back). But I think Marvel is trying to make her like her used to which is a Major telepath and added with a little TK (for leaping, etc)..

I'm loving the direction they're taking Psylocke.. and Yost's writing the mini is just <3 <3 <3

I think whats going on is Betsy is a telekinetic and Fraction brought back the telepathy but its returning slowly. Maybe by the time the mini is out she will be a full telepath again.
Or maybe she has the psychic suggestion but she is also able to generate the psychic knife which is afterall "The focused totality of her telepathic might"

Might as well. CC finally had her experience them in SotB. It certainly can't hurt. It's also one of the things that made her different compared to other telepaths.

Yep.. definitely.. she still have the butterfly sig after the bodyswitch as been shown in early Adjectiveless and several Wolverine issues.

Maybe we should ask about it in future Yost/Fraction X-Positions?

Well, that interview clearly establishes that she is both telepathic and telekenetic, however within the answer to one question we get Yost saying she is a High Level Telepath with a bit of telekenisis (yay Yost) and Ketchum saying she has a bit of telepathy and a bit of teke but a kick ass ninja (meh, all her powers are diminishing?).

Why can't someone (hello Axel Alonso) just clear this up. If while answering a single question the writer and editor of a single project can't agree, who really knows?

One thing I do hope, with all those pictures floating around with her psychic knife manifested, maybe she can actually hit someone with it this time.

Oh best believe Fraction "DOESNT GET HER!" Anyone can write about anyone. What Yost is saying, Is that MARVEL.. mandated she be ASIAN, because of recognition and marketing. Yost likes the other version and wants to give that forms fans a proper ending to the tale, and to make it clear about her current form.

Psylocke was always my favorite character to play with even before I knew about the wonderful world of comics. The first time I ever played her was in X-men 2: Clone Wars for the Sega Genesis. That was when Sega was all the rage. :biggrin:

I was a huge fan of fighting games and loved her swift movements and powers. As far as her powers in Marvel Super Heroes or X-men: Children of the Atom, I also liked the butterfly super, but my favorite was the psionic maelstrom where you'd hit them like 44 times going straight up in the air, while mashing the button like crazy lol.

As for favorite Psylocke artists, I can't name any right now. There are too many that are just so good.

to be honest i'm embarrassed to admit i sorta like Land's style. i don't think he's very talented because he traces so much, but i like the cinematic almost realistic way it looks as opposed to a lot of comic book art. i like the style but i hate the laziness and the creepy smiles. and the way every female character has the same hair. but if he made things in proportion and gave everyone their own distinctive look i'd like :redface:

You should read it, but don't expect a lot of Psylocke panel time, but at least she was treated better than in Sisterhood. Oh and it's true that we didn't get a butterfly signature, but her eyes were glowing pink which I thought was cool, just like how the Cuckoos' eyes glow when they use their power.

Hard to tell. She only used her telepathic illusion on one person. Not only did Beast appear human, but I think she included Warren too because his wings didn't show in that panel either. Later in the story she also stabbed someone in the mouth with a psi knife.

So now I don't think that Yost made a simple power "mistake." I think that Betsy maybe has her full telepathic strenght back, but for whatever reason she has chosen not to tell the X-Men. Maybe she knows/suspect that Scott & Emma is pulling a bullshit-blanket over the whole team (and between themselves).

I think we might see it sometime in the future. In the past, the signature was shown when Betsy used Tp to communicate or when she had precog flashes.

It still doesn't make sense though. If Fraction wasn't going to have her use it, then why state that she's still primarily a telekine? He's really gotta get it together.

If she becomes a pure telepath again, then I won't settle for any low levels. She should be returned to the high level telepath she used to be, finding creative ways to use it, combining it with her ninja skills. For too much of the 90s she didn't do anything but kick and use the psi-knife and it got old. Too bad that when she finally realized that, she had to completely shut off her telepathy.

The only time I've had trouble with Paquette's art was on Young X-men. The colors really dulled the art and I just couldn't really get into the stories themselves either.

Me too I really like his work. Even though he drew Ultimate Psylocke (which was beautiful) he seems to have two distinct styles for both the real Psylocke and her Ult counterpart. I think it takes a certain degree of talent to distinguish different characters properly.

I like Psylocke in other colors than blue as well. I LOVED her Xtreme outfit because it was black and it fit well with her and her New Exiles although had blue it also had purple in it which balanced it out perfectly.

I like that the colorist added purple eye shadow to Psylocke in this issue. :)

I loved her Xtreme costume. The blue on Betts is so played out. I also kinda-sorta liked the Revolution costume with the red scarf and headband.

Well that was the whole point of the xtreme look IMO. It was a modern redesign of the Hand outfit that worked. It was sexy and still retained her recognizable look. I approve of that outfit, but I don't of her blue thong.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I love when artists can draw women and teenage girls differently. Betsy looked so pretty this issue. :D
I've come to the conclusion that I don't hate the thong per se. I just can't stand the old Jim Lee design anymore. I kinda loved Bachalo's AOA version of the thong. And X-Treme wasn't bad either.

I agree that Psylocke should have her iconic butterfly signature. Some of my favorite scenes of it are when Betsy assaulted Storm's mind when Nanny turned her into a child and Storm broke the control and you could see the butterfly effect shatter like glass. Same thing happened while Betsy fought Sinister on the astral plane.

I also loved how Kubert drew the effect on Revanche when she was dying. All the psi-energies within her body were escalating out and there was a giant effect around her whole body.

Hmm just got 512 not long ago Psylocke appeared well.. Eurasian in this. Some scenes she look asian.. others not so much. The ig difference being the hair color now.

They use Dark Purple for the asian form and Light purple for the British one. When it used to be dark on the Brit form. All in all Im pleased with her treatment inthis issue.

Fraction.. still did us and her wrong during the Sisterhood arc though.
