Jared's strategy:
Start of the round: Silver Surfer immediately speedblitzes the opposition, laying down deadly beams of cosmic energy upon all but Fin Fang Foom before they have a chance to blink. No one on the enemy team has reflexes much faster than human, and though Norrin is confined to an atmosphere, he has shown to be able to break the sound barrier easily while close to the ground. And since his recent powerup from Galactus, Surfer will have no issues with taking his foes out quickly and efficiently. Meanwhile, Impossible Man takes on the shape and strength of Fin Fang Foom(perfect color to do so, not to mention he’s assumed the form of Galactus previously, so the size is no issue), and goes headlong towards Foom. Clea quickly performs the oldest magic trick there is – that of prestidigitation. Honey Lemon’s bag is teleported from her grasp before she can so much as open it.
Within seconds: Surfer turns all his attention on Foom, transforming the ground beneath the beast into swamp. Impossible Man turns into a flying tentacled monster and starts swatting around anyone who may have withstood Norrin’s assault as Clea unleashes a sleeping spell on our enemies.
Finally, to finish them all off, Impossible Man forms a gigantic impeneterable dome around Surfer and the opposing team(leaving Clea outside of course) as Surfer unleashes a massive explosive burst of cosmic energy. Clea may reinforce the dome with a magical force field as well, just to be sure it holds. If Fin Fang Foom is still conscious, my group triple-teams him until he falls

Flaneur's & Josef F.'s Team Mega Fail strategy:
Battle Theme – Battle without honour or humanity. (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ora4Szu6UZQ)
1. Honey Lemon withdraws a heavy artillery gun, covered with glitter (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/97/XM214_Minigun.jpg), loaded with bullets made of Blurpoon (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g318/Joe_Dynamo/Blurpoon.jpg), which causes the material Surfer is made of to rapidly decompose and causes the Surfer intense pain.
2. Due to Clea's supernatural non-human nature, Elsa Bloodstone is able to use her genie powered lamp to instantly teleport to Clea's exact location, past any magical defenses. She takes Agent Beefcake with her.
3. Nia Noble uses her ability to control the powers of others to redirect any spells Clea may have begun to cast. If the spell is defensive or curative, it now aids Nia, if it is offensive it now assaults Surfer.
4. Fin Fang Foom assaults the Surfer so as to occupy him for as long as possible.
5. As soon as Elsa and Beefcake arrive, Beefcake begins his self-destruct protocols which causes him to explode and kill Clea. Elsa teleports back to starting position immediately.
6. White Rabbit, Scorpion and Howard the Duck join forces to distract Impossible Man so as to prevent him from taking action. This may include but is not restricted to poison/radiation stings (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g318/Joe_Dynamo/scorp.jpg), carrot missiles (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g318/Joe_Dynamo/Rabbit.jpg), quack fu (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g318/Joe_Dynamo/Howie.jpg), amusing conversation and pop culture references. IF Clea has somehow survived the explosion, Scorpion will momentarily divert her attention to deliver her sting, which has in the past nearly killed the Warbound Hulk.
7. Nia uses her telepathic powers to convince the Impossible Man that he's playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl, (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g318/Joe_Dynamo/super_smash_bros_brawl_by_wicked_ga.jpg) taking him out of the fight. NOTE: In Fantastic Four #177-178, 1976-1977, Impossible Man ignored an attack upon the Baxter Building because the TV was on so this will definitely take him out of the fight. He's also vulnerable to telepathic manipulation since he's been disconnected from the Poppupian collective consciousness in the Spiderman and the Fantastic Four mini-series.
8. Honey Lemon gives the special gun to Elsa who uses her excellent sniper skills and superhuman reflexes to pepper the Silver Surfer with bullets non-stop, stopping him in his tracks.
9. Foom takes of advantage of Surfer's incapacitation to grab his board and beat him with it, repeatedly (http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g318/Joe_Dynamo/FOOM.jpg). As the board is made from the Power Cosmic and Surfer's own body is significantly weakened, this will do a lot of damage.
10. Misty Knight uses this opportunity to get up close to Surfer and employ her ability to melt metals into their liquid state, melting the blurpoon bullets throughout the Surfer's body, causing every component of his body to decompose, including his Power Cosmic re-inforced organs.

*You can't speed blitz in such a limited arena without being propelled outside it, so your speed has to be cut down considerably. He's confined to a stadium, not just the atmosphere. What exactly are you going to do with the speedblitz anyway? It's a very general and meaningless description ... you can't just go 'speedblitz'.
*Spiderman, Hulk, Human Torch, Black Panther etc. have all had the reflexes to punk Silver Surfer ... it's not going to be a problem to get him.
*The teleportation spell is automatically redirected as per Nia's power, which is as fast as thought, so that means, since it's used offensively, that it teleports Surfer to wherever you planned to move Honey Lemon's bag. Where did you plan to move it to anyway? You don't mention.
*Impossible Man can't be used in a directly aggressive attack unless provoked, it's clearly stated in his MO that he's anti-violence.

Flaneur's & Josef F.'s Team Mega Fail strategy
Good breakdown and strategy, my only question comes from step 3:
3. Nia Noble uses her ability to control the powers of others to redirect any spells Clea may have begun to cast. If the spell is defensive or curative, it now aids Nia, if it is offensive it no[QUOTw assaults Surfer.
Can you give examples that may show the capability that Nia Noble has to stand up to a magic big gun like Clea? As far as I recall Nia's powers are way more limited than Clea's.
Good job though devising such a strategy against some powerful opponents.

Good job though devising such a strategy against some powerful opponents.
In New Invaders, Nia simultaneously commandeers a necromancer's powers to raise three dead guys while creating a mindscape for the Thin Man to interrogate and torture them within this landscape. So she's creating a pretty powerful link which would have painful feedback WHILE controlling that guy's powers.

Yea the speedblitz doesn't exactly work here. You're in a confined space and while the Surfer may have superspeed, he does not live in super speed ala Quicksilver, so it's not an instanteous action.
It seems you just have him blast straight across the arean, which would make me think that he would just shoot right outta the arena. I see no indication in your strategy that he manuevers to stay inside it while keeping up top speeds. Since all I have to go on is your strategy I can't assume anything else might happen.
I also think that Fin Fang Fong and his size would make it quite difficult for Surfer to blast around. I think FFF does his job in pounding on Surfer. I mean if Black Panther can get one up on Surfer (post-Annihilation Surfer at that), I see no reason why FFF couldn't.
I'll let Humpherys reply before I vote though.

While i agree that simply speedblitzing right off the bat probably wont work for an in character Surfer in an areana. Recently against the Hulk while fighting Gladiator style he didn't show any speedblitzing and this fight is similar to that. J&F's stratagy seems to be more feasable as they have unique powers and the numbers to offset Surefers and Cleas powers effectivly. But its true that the Surfer and Clea still have a vast speed adavantage over the other team, but J&F has attacks that move at the speed of thought to make it more equal. Tough match up to stratagize against, but very well done and thought out.

Can't say I like the idea that the Surfer just lays cosmic radiation down on the entire other team, without taking into account they might do something... anything to prevent it. He already takes two actions, against everybody but Foom, then Foom, before there's supposedly anything the opponents can do. I know the Surfer is fast... but that's still pushing it, and assuming nobody dodges. There's no contingency, and this is a one-shot kill, do or die to wipe them out. That, and Agent Beefcake, and the White Rabbit's rabbit wouldn't just roll over and die.
With the reversal spell by Nia on Clea... would it mean that Honey Lemon's purse just doesn't go anywhere... or that she keeps her purse, but the adverse effect is instead, Clea is duped into prestidigitating the Silver Surfer's board from him, since all spells she was to attempt were to be redirected at the Surfer by this action? I'm thinking yes, the Surfer gets de-boarded.
Factor in Impy's limitation about not doing intentional harm... and yeah... I think this fight does go to Flanny & Josef F., barring Jared gives some more specific rebuttals than Silver Surfer FTW.

I voted Flaneur & Josef F.
They had a well put together strategy, and gave us break downs of every step of their plan.
Jared,
Your strategy felt like it was just a summary of the fight, speedblitzing was a bad opening move, and I think you used insta-k.o.s way to much for my liking in your strategy. I can somewhat understand why your strategy isn't as well put together, since it is your first time. But it isn't a good excuse since Jessica Drew encouraged everyone to check out Mutant League so we could see how a match goes down and how to write a strategy (if you hadn't done a league before).
Also if the strategies were meshed, I think team Mega Fail would win.

I am awaiting confirmation from my hetro life mate Andres Pacheco, but i am leaning towards Team Mega Fail.
I agree that Jared's is more of a summary than a strat.
Jared, i would suggest reading a few mutant league strats to see how they are set up, much like Pryde said. This is our first time too, but our strat is slightly more detailed.

Is it cool if I just forfeited this one to Flaneur and Joseph K? As a result of some heart issues, I've been on new meds all weekend and today, and am not in any mental state to defend my strategy(which I should have written before this came up, but failed to).
So I admit that this was a rushed job on my part.
I hope I get another chance to write a better strategy in a different match. I can write more detailed strategies(have done so in previous leagues), but wasn't up to it this time.

I know how that feels with all the meds, I hope you get better soon. :(

For what it's worth, I voted. I did so before reading about the health issues and possible forfeit.
But I'll give my reasoning:-
Flaneur & Josef F's strategy seemed more in character, better planned, more feasible and suited the arena more.
I hope you get well soon though, Jared.

While I don't think it matters at this point, I'm curious about the use of Blurpoon. Is that something that only showed up in Silver Surfer: In Thy Name? That's the only time I find reference to it.
Still, Team Mega Fail did put out an awesome strategy.

I think there are other instances where it's been mentioned but I can't be more specific since Josef is the one who did the Surfer research, not me, and he's on holiday in the US atm.

Like I said, it doesn't matter. ;)
I also had no idea how powerful Misty Knight is until I looked her up after that fight.

I see her as one of our 'vengeance points' to be used against pryde15, since he wouldn't trade Xavin to us! We shall now make them all suffer!

I disagree, though it matters little at this stage, there is always something the enemy can do about it and I think we did in this case. Deciding on such a simple scale leads to pre-judging matches based on what characters are listed, as opposed to the battles themselves.
