I'm a noob and my first post is starting a new thread. I ought to be ashamed, but must admit I am not. Did a quick search and didn't see any previous topics of this nature so here it is...
(As a short preface I'll confirm that YES, I am totally using this as an oppertunity to show off my deadly Batman tattoo)
I am looking for a little inspiration to complete my sleeve. The image attatched is my Batman tattoo as it stands now, a half sleeve designed around one of my favourite Batman images. My intent is to finish the sleeve onto the lower half of my arm starting with large Joker and Twoface portraits on either side of my forearm and then meeting all three with a collage of all my other favourite characters. Has anyone seen such a thing done before. Anyone got any suggestions as to what comicbook images to use for Joker, Twoface, Bane etc. ?
One thing I am really not, is an artist and for all my trying I can't string together any continuity for the sleeves different characters, so an artists advice would be appreciated!
Has anyone else here got any Batman or other comicbook tats? Twud nice to compare!

Looks pretty cool.
The only tatt I got is the death of superman tattoo on my right shoulder. Still need to get the inside colored black and some touchups done on it. I've thought about doing some others, but I'm not sure what else.

I actually have an Alex Ross Joker on the back of my neck. I'm thinking of extending it out into a rogue's gallery, but my next tat would be Two Face and Alex Ross didn't do much of Two-Face that would make a good facial perspective...
I chose my Joker because he looked the most realistic to me, and I love Ross's interpretation. He makes him classy and charismatic in just a painting, which i love.
So I think whatever drawings really give you the most attatchment, you'll be happy to carry around on your body -- you'll be proud of it. But you're probably going to want something that meshes with what you've got. So I'd stick with the same artist....
I really like the joker tattoo but I don't particularly care for the Batman piece, might just be the picture though...

I want to say that's a Kubert. I thought about getting that particular piece myself, but opted against it in the end. I'm a bad girl at heart...We want bad boys on our backs, not heros. (hooray for double entendres!)
I thought that was a tattoo of black panther for a second then ;)
man, both of you have crazy tats! O.O *impressed*
your Bat-fandom goes waaaay past mine! ;)
I have two Batman tatoo's. The first one is of a shot by Jim Lee from issue 611(?) where Batman says to Poison Ivy "I'vy you're coming back to Gotham City'. It's located on my lower back. The second one is from the cover of Superman/Batman issue #6, and is based on Ed McGuiness's artwork, that one is on my left side. That one came out very well and I'm really proud of it.
Sorry I don't have any pictures to show.

I don't have any comic tattoos, although I was really really wanting a Silver Surfer one for a long time, but i digress...but I'm kind of a tattoo guy, so ill throw in my two cents...
Ive seen conceptually what your talking about done before...i think Bob Tyrell is doing a similar type thing with horror movie monsters as opposed to the Batman family, so its definitely a viable concept...ive also seen it done with Star Wars characters, I guess once you choose a subject with so many great images to choose from, its pretty much the only way to go...
Anyway as far as not being an artist, its not a requirement, because your tattoo artist will be...Most of my tattoos are Japanese, but I had one or two things that I had gotten first that dont quite fit, but my artist worked them in so you they flow with all my other pieces...Once you describe to the artist what you want, he or she should be able to figure out a way to make it work.
it sounds like a good idea to me too, so it should end up pretty cool...
Good luck! Let us see it when it's done!

I have a big Frank Miller-style Bat symbol on my back, a 1989 Batman film-inspired Bat symbol on the inside of my bicep (which was a quickie to cover another old tattoo that was rather offensive), and the chest symbol from the costume of William Katt's character on the old Greatest American Hero TV show on my shoulder.
