I was very tempted to say something else in the title. But nah that be too revealing. So what does CBR say to this issue? I'm shocked nobody has posted anything on it in the Batman forum.

I really enjoyed this issue and I'm loving Dixon bringing back the C List Bat Rogues with this issue being Maxie Zeus. I wonder if the in the coming months this Violet storyline will wrap up or continue on.

I'm kind of liking her as a Robin Rogue.

As for the last two pages. I'm surprised Dixon didn't reverse them. Cause that second to last page... Could it be? Or is Dixon EVIL enough to play on fans' heart strings.. :evilsmile

*giggle snort*

Spoiler for Spoiler in Robin. She unmasks as Tim leaves the crime scene to reveal.. Stephanie Brown?! No way is it in Tim's head since he's far away when she does this. And she knows he's Robin by saying, "Good night, Tim."

I can't see it being someone posing as her because wouldn't they kinda want to tease Tim more ala last two issues? I really do think Steph is alive.

Well given the recent events of Batman and the Outsiders.. maybe he really is granting fans to have somewhat happy ends.

Interestingly, Dixon has said this about the follow-up issue (#173) on his Dixonverse message board:

You WILL NOT be disappointed by 173. It will be the most under-ordered comic I've been involved with since BoP #8.

Interesting.. very interesting that he compare it to that issue.

I enjoyed seeing Maxie Zeus again, too. And I like Violet.

I thought the last two pages would have worked better reversed, too. It would have followed the unwritten rule that big reveals are on even-numbered pages so they happen when the read turns the page.

Either way, I don't think a hallucination would have been hiding in the shadows a block away. I'd say Stephanie's back. Or someone who looks like her.

For me, Robin has been so on and off, just as I pick up an ish or two. I lose interest in the arc. The Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghoul was awful. This sounds good though, I have always liked Stephanie Brown and thought she was done away with way too quick as Robin. However with all this Batman R.I.P. stuff going on, I see big things in Tim's immediate future as IMHO he is the only viable replacement for Bats, once Bruce steps down. Sounds like I might just have to start getting Robin again. Damn, another book to the already bloated pull list.

Yeah I was like all  after that page only to find out there was still one page left. And I know it's understandable why Dixon would put Penguin watching the news on the casino bust. But still, after that whopper of a second to last page. I was more  at that then Penguin is slowly moving Robin and Violet to a trap.

I understand the timing of it all though as well, given Tim was watching Violet leave and then he left when Spoiler was shown watching him. And that it was some hours after the whole affair.

But for the life of me, I'm shocked Chuck dropped this bombshell without even a hint from LiTG or given comic spoilers come these days.

This issue was a big breath of fresh air, the build up to this has been slow but good - but this issue alone opened a lot up which is nice to see. I can't say im the biggest fan of the drawings... but they're enough to get by on.

Other then the ending being the big highlight, for me I enjoyed the whole bit while Tim was hacking the security cameras looking for Violet, and while waiting calling Mr.Jordan about Zo... I donno I just thought those panel sets were done well in their order

all in all one of the better issues!

My theory on Steph being back. She was ressurected by Manheim using tech from apokalips or a mystical ritual from the crime bible and now she's all devoted to the Church of Cain and what not

There is also a spoiler in Gotham Underground who is hired by the Penguin... and in GU Manheim does play a role... yet it looks as if he is against the Penguin... so I am not too sure, I guess we will have to wait until June.

My theory is that there's two Spoiler's. The one running around Gotham Underground and the one in Robin. The reason I say this.. is because of the Robin/Spoiler Special. It just sounded like the solicitation was talking about two Spoilers.

One who was helping Tim, and one who has a new life she cannot leave. Add to the fact that the Spoiler in Gotham Underground just seems different to me. Acting more like a certain other female caped crusader who hasn't put in an appearance in Underground yet.

Robin has been a mixed bag, but I still enjoy it enough to read it every month (although the relationship w/ Zo just seems so forced). Wasn't there a theory some time ago about Dr. Thompkins having actually saved Stephanie and took her to Europe or somewhere out of the way to try and recuperate/live a normal life? or am I just offbase and thinking about the Green Goblin too much :p . Oh well, looking forward to see how they explain this.

I'm gonna go with the theory that Leslie Thompkins isn't a complete ____*.

Wasn't there a theory some time ago about Spoiler...More wishful thinking or pipedream than actual theory, what with there being zero indication of such a thing happening. Plus it being out of character for both of them (although less ooc for Leslie than what actually saw print).

Hang on you mean there's a chance a character could return from the dead purely because DC havnt finnished milking it?
