For the non-believers, Michael (Patric) is the eldest brother of the Frog clan, Star (Gertz) is his vamp girlfriend and Sam Emerson (Haim) is the new kid on the block – the fish out of water (read: blood) as it were.
Michael is Sam's brother, not a Frog.

Maybe it was just me, but the original Lost Boys movie was about family and Vampires. Two interesting concept in 80s wrapping. Good times really.
Nothing about the movie nore comic seems to convey those sentiments.
It seems more like who can we get for this thing and lets build a story around that. Not that going to make a bad movie, but I feel more like it's going to an un-Lost Boys movie.
I don't know, but I just hope the name "Lost Boys" is not lost in all the potential profit. I wanted a prequel/sequel to establish a stronger foundation for further movies. For instance, I always wondered if the grandmother was turned and is still alive and that's why the grandfather hunted every night, for her. I also want the back story on the hows and whys of the transformation of each of the vamp brothers. There are any number of stories to be told. The ending just left a whole number of question. However, none of them involved the Frog brothers, NONE. I've no idea if thier is a point of having a sequel star the Frog brothers. Really I would have recast the whole movie with as little modern Hollywood cheese as possible.

I couldn't agree more. The sequel looks like a "modern" age remake of the original (even though it's being called part 2) and the comic looks like a sad attempt to cash in on the core fan base.
I will rent the DVD, but I am pretty sure it's going to suck.*

I agree. The Lost Boys is a nearly perfect slice of 80s goodness wrapped up in a damn fine vampire yarn. Almost impossible to improve upon (or perhaps even expand upon), so why even try after all of these 20 years? At least they didn't produce a full-blown remake the way they're doing with every other 80s horror movie.
