Must Be A Slow News Day Because Beau Smith Is On TV
Local NBC Affiliate Covers Beau Smith Comic Book Writer

Ceredo, WV. (March 18. 2008) Every dog has his day and Beau Smith is no exception. WSAZ-TV, the number one rated station in West Virginia and NBC affiliate, took time to talk with comic book writer and lifetime resident, Beau Smith. WSAZ anchor, Tim Irr, donned a radioactive bubble suit with lead-lined gloves to interview the non-stop talking Beau at Comic World in Huntington, West Virginia.

Now you have a chance to live in horror as the link below brings Beau Smith on to your TV or computer screen. He’s the guest that never leaves.

I think every news story would be much more exciting if they said things like "Now you have a chance to live in horror!!!" and the interviewers wore radioactive bubble suits while talking to random people.

Instead real life (featuring Democrats and cancer and hate crimes and Lindsey Lohan) sucks.

*sigh*

:p

Congrats, Beau! I always enjoy reading your columns, so it's nice to see you getting some televised publicity.

Having said that, local news always cracks me up; every few years the local Indianapolis affiliate does a story on comic books (usually when a comic book movie is being released), and the plastic news anchors always act so surprised to learn that comic books are still around and that they're "not just for kids anymore!" Also, I love how they describe your 24 special as an "animated graphic novel." Do the pictures move? :)

Corey,

Thank you for taking the time to check it out. Much appreciated.

I know what you mean about the media, both local and national, there is always that surprise that:

**Comics are still being made

**That they are 10 cents

**and all they remember is Archie Comics

I was very lucky that the reporter and main anchor that came and did this piece, Tim Irr was excellent in his questions and filming. He was there with me for two hours for that piece and it was a great experience.

Thanks again,

Beau
