Over the next week, month, year, etc. please post original artwork depicting Peter Parker in any of his incarnations!
This art can be new or old and in any medium. If it's an old piece please indicate approximately when it was created. And please feel free to comment on others' work, BUT remember, this isn't art class and all posters are encouraged to participate regardless of talent. Unless specifically asked for negative comments are not appreciated and will be deleted. So have fun and take your time!

you know roonie, you really should get out of doing this pose, its boring, make them dinamic,or maybe in the classic pose for each character,i know you do them kind like a bios, but you have a nice art, would be better to see them other then standing, get it ?

Good work Ronnie, I like that I'm not the only one who draws spidey with the webbing under his arms. Good work.

These are model sheet style pictures of characters for reference to show the majority of their costumes from the front and to show them to a consistent scale with their established heights (for those who have them). They aren't pin ups, they aren't covers, or submissions for those. I do commissions and artwork professionally, coloring comics and doing art for fun as well. While I appreciate the suggestion, I don't need any advice, I'm not doing these by mistake, I've done nearly 1,100 of them. The spirit of your comment in general is taken and appreciated, but there is a tone of condescension and authority there as well, that is not welcome, "get it?"

Thank you. Are more people leaving out the webbing these days? Seems like it is somewhat intrinsic to the design to me.

I didn't mean to be oversensitive, and as I said, I did appreciate what I think/thought was the source of the comments, and I still do, I hope I didn't come across as too much of a psycho myself.

so i was bored and decided to do a quick sketch in my tablet (quick my ass ,i took 2 hours to finish this, lol),mostly cos i'm rusty after 3 years without drawing,i mean hand drawing, now most of what i do is vectorized, and i'm still geting used to the tablet as well (only have it for 3 months),its kind weird to trace over glass.
so here it is,i guess i'd do a better job if i done it with pencils and paper, and would had finished much quicker too lol :D

That is WAY good I really like how it looks.

maybe because those are his proffesional work that he gets payed for and he doesnt want to splash it all over the internet for free? Id say we should be grateful he posts anything at all, i personally like the basic stance, it allows us to always get a clear look at what he has done with the costume/anatomy.

that an awesome picture. Can i offer some constructive criticism? I am by no means an artist, but it struck me that the anatomy of the left side of his torso (the bit we can see) looks a bit off. It looks a little too broad, and it gives the impression it is a direct view of his front/back, because of the broadness.

Wow....i didn't realise him posting a sketch/ANYTHING would send the guy bankrupt.
Im simply asking him to share (by his own choice) a picture of his, not nessecarily something he would get paid for.
The guy clearly has talent, so i just wanted to see something more from him than his profile pictures.
But if thats all he can offer then im fine with that.

HOW DARE YOU QUESTION MY AWESOME ART? IM THE GREATEST ARTIST TO EVER SET FOOT IN THESE FORUMS !!
now seriouly ,really ? i though people would complain about the spider on his back, that makes him look to broad.....its cos i started doing a side view, but then i though it was too much one dimensional, that it looked flat. so i changed a wee bit  . guess i should gonne with dont fix what aint broke ,huh :p
and well,im 3 years and sth rusty,my anatomy sucks, ahha,i have to learn it all again.

look for gimp, its like a free photoshop.
i can see that you have a natural skill to drawing from those tracing
hope its better now.

look for gimp, its like a free photoshop.
now to the critics, first i dont like that style, but that my taste, the pose is dinamic, but can i be sincere ? learn some anatomy, and most importanly proportion, then you are good at this you twist them into your style, dont try to learn from a artist you like, what i assume here,it restrain your hability,i used to do the same, and when i look back, all my drawings were similar to mark bagley,i used to think awesome, but not creative, cos i can see that you have a natural skill to drawing from those tracing
thanks for the comments, but like i said this was done last april and my work has changed since then. no offense but pretty sure the opening statement by matt "Unless specifically asked for negative comments are not appreciated" personally i dont care but i dont recall me pointing out flaws in your work, or anyone elses.

wow people here are touchy, you can rip mine all you want,i know my flaws, and am quite happy when other point my mistakes. i hope i didnt offend you....MUCH

03-17-2008, 03:53 PM
Yes i too am aware of my flaws, however, only three people have posted pics in this thread and you called Ronnie's style boring and then criticized my pic as well even though i had already pointed out the flaw......and by the way its spelt dynamic not dinamic

thank you for helping in my learning of the english language, wich is not my natural language.
i didnt call ronnie style boring,i said, his art is good, but im tired of only seeing his "profile bios",that is what i said and quote
"you know roonie, you really should get out of doing this pose, its boring, make them dinamic,or maybe in the classic pose for each character"
i didnt know he is a professional ilustrator sharing part of his portfolio with us,for me he was just a talented user sharing his work with us. hence why i wanted to see more from him then just his standart pose, and by standart i mean the one he always post.
sorry if im looking like a dick who critice others work, wiithout mine being that much better or becouse i think it IS.that was definetely NOT MY INTENTION.
from now on,i wont comment on anything, aparently i dont have a way of saying things without looking rude or have my intention misinterpreted.

Thanks Madrox, I prefer the pencils myself, this pic was the first time I used Photoshop so the colours aren't as good as what they could be.
Thanks for the kind words man really appreciate them. Also dude really dig your inks, inking is the one thing I completely suck at.

Those are all great. Ronnie, this is stupid but I think my favorite thing about your stuff is the way the material bunches at the knees and elbows, I just appreciate little things like that. Same with you Uproar I've always liked Spidey with the thick black around his eyes.
