Dodson is back and Exclusive. (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=150180)

According to the article he'll be splitting art duties with Greg Land.

Thoughts? Comments?

Cue the lateness talk!

What has he done before? From what I understand, Greg is rather unpopular and traces, so I am interested in what Terry is like.

The cover to Young X-Men comes to mind.

He did some issues of the old MK Spider-Man series, and I think some issues of Generation X before that.

Alright, I think I know who he is. Thanks.

Based on memory... Not bad. Not exquisite, but if the writing is good, than he certainly won't keep me away.

My only thoughts are why can't he handle the whole load so Land can be dumped... their styles are going to be hard to switch back and forth with (and it seems they're both on #500)

Dodson isn't one of my favorite artists, but his work is always good quality. Draws the sexiest Black Cat ever.

The Dodsons can't quite meet a monthly schedule (see their run on Wonder Woman) and neither can Land, so if they split it up, they can avoid delays (hopefully).

He was terrible on Generation X in my opinion. His characters were all round with huge hips and large round noses.

Now his work on Wonder Woman is spectacularly sexy however. I wish they could get this colorist to come with.

Well, the samples look nice.

So I guess they will trade off by arc, right? Would be silly if they shared arcs.

I didn't cut him much slack when he was on Generation X because his stuff is a bit more standard than Chris Bachalo, who created these whacky creatures, but I think he's a decent artist. Looking back, his art back then reminds me of today's Paco Medina.

Plus, he seems to have definitely improved since then so I'm optimistic.

And Mrs. Dodson is a great colorist partner, too. :)

I was hoping he would do Ms. Marvel because that's a book I think he was tailor made for, but I guess that would be a bit of a slap in the face after having done Wonder Woman. I'll be happy with this, as I always dug him, even when he was the artist on Gen. X.

I figure they'll be spliting arcs like Bachelo and Ramos did on Carey's X-men.
I like Land's run on Nightwing years ago, but that's about it. Least I think that was Land...

Dodson I like. Not my favorite artist but decent.

I know him through his work on MK:Spider-Man which wasn't bad....but not incredible either. I think of him like Larocca, his images tell and story and are exceptable but they don't make you go "wow! thats incredible!"

Im actualy looking forward to land more, thats if he doesn't trace someone elses work or draw some strange anckles.

I Love Terry and I hope he B.O.T.S. He is a great artist and it should really turn some heads for Marvel. Hell, it worked for DC on Wonder Woman(with Gail of course). My brother has never bought an X-book and he already had Uncanny on his pull list!! Thanks to MC and this he is finally on board. Good shit Marvel!!

I wish Terry did the book full time, Land is ok in small doses but I don't think he's particularly good for ongoings. His Ultimate Power really got messy at the end with Wolverine looking almost Hulk big.

Dodson's pencil often looked like a sloppy mess and Hama was the GenX antichrist.

Wow. I completely disagree. Yeah, Hama's run as AWFUL, but the Faerber/ Dodson combo was one of my favorites!

EDIT: Ok, I just notived the Hama name on the cover. Yeah, I agree. That was a strange Generation X time. LOL

Yeah, it was a horrible time for Gen X fans. I hated the whole thing. Faerber really brought it back home for me, and I really loved his M/Jubilee story. Classicly good stuff.

AWESOME!

No, it wasn't. All the female characters suddenly got ginormous booties and hips, round supple noses and grew four inches in height. It was weird.

The book desperately needed someone a bit quirkier and less traditional and flat. Bachalo was, of course, the best artist for the book bar none, but after him, I didn't the art really went anywhere good (except Mahfood's glorious contributions) until Steve Pugh brought a bit of an ugly edgy vibe to it.

Land and Dodson are two artists I like but it's a weird combo. I would have had one do X-Men Legacy, the other Uncanny. And if you want to do a rotation then use artists with a more similar style.

The artist assignments have all been a bit weird lately. None of them jump out as 'superstar artist' to me except Bianchi, whom I'm personally apprehensive about, and possibly Dodson.

I really don't want to be one of those lame Chris Bachalo haters from yesteryear so I'll try not to complain about it too much while everyone else has their glory days. http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Unhappy/unhappy-029.gif

I don't want to be a hater either, but I don't think I will ever see the day where the artists chosen for the X books will make sens. It's been a problem since the Morrison days. Hopefully Land and Dodson will do good. And I would have prefered a bigger name for X-Men Legacy.

I really like Dodson's work. My problem purely comes down to the colouring not matching the quality of the pencils. Seriously, every time I look at those Young X-Men images all I think to myself is that they've taken Dodson's pencils and made them a flatly 2D as possible. It's real disservice. :(

As for Land? Non-plussed would be the kindest words I could offer, right now.
