The Great Ten

What have they been up to? I stopped following after 52 and their appearance in Checkmate. Then, there was that whole burnout with the mega event after mega event thing.

I really liked these characters. Have they been relevant recently?

I don't think they've shown up much beyond 52 and Checkmate. August General in Iron is actually part of Checkmate's cast right now (though we'll see if he stays when Rucka leaves).

I remember seeing news from a recent convention that there's going to be a Great Ten series coming out. Don't know when or by who though.

I know Mother of Champions is appearing in a book somewhere coming up, I just can't remember where....

They aren't still the Great Ten anymore either! They either need more members or a new name!

I didn't read 52 but remember finding their designs and names very interesting.

That wasn't the Great Ten, they were just three chinese Metas who pretended to be the Great Ten.

Somebody needs to write a story featuring untold tales of the Beijing Olympics. I want to see the Immortal Man in Darkness teaming up with Yao Ming, or Thunder Mind meeting Michael Phelps.

yeti was confirmed killed fighting Black Adam in 52 #50. In the same issue, Ghost Fox Killer, Immortal Man in Darkness, the Sholin Robot, and the 7 Deadly Brothers all went up against Black adam and lost. there are no confirmed deatsh but IMID was in his jet when another collided with it, Sholin Robot was blown to pieces and Black Adam was seen holding one of the 7DB by the throat so any of these people could be dead.

In the OMAC Project Infinite Crisis Special, one the champions birthed by Mother of Champions is operative sent by China to recover the Brother Eye data. He gets killed by an OMAC

Obviously you didn't read Greg's run of Checkmate, because Celestial Archer, Immortal Man in Darkness, and Perfect Sound Physician were shown one year later to have survived and fighting Checkmate operatives.
Also, Ghost Fox Killer was shown by the side of August General Iron in a later issue.

Yeti and Chang Tzu are the only team deaths. The main ten members are all still alive. They have a mini-series coming out either late this year or early next year.

If I remember correctly, Yeti wasn't officially a team member, but an alternate.

Concerning Chang Tzu, he didn't die did he? The last time I saw him, his egg was cracked and there was another one inside, ready to grow again.
