I was thinking about buying the Justice miniseries by Alex Ross and Doug Braithwaite and Jim Krueger and I was wondering, why is it divided into 3 separate hardcovers? Are they going to release it into one big hardcover eventually or should I just go ahead and buy the three?

I saw how DC were going to put it out, so I said the heck with it and tracked down the original issues. The local store had the last five on the shelf new, so it wasn't too hard.

It is a good read.

I'd recommend getting the individual issues as well. Three hardcovers and a possible "absolute-style" one in the future seems a little too much like a money-grabbing scheme to me.

Then get Avengers/Invaders when that comes out! Ross and Krueger are top notch!!!

Justice was a great series. I recomend just buying the single issues as well until an Absolute Edition comes out.

Yea, those single issues are still cheap at some places. The covers were great and each issue reads good by itself.

I recently re-read the last half of Justice and it reads much, much better altogether than it did stretched out over 2 years. There's some really interesting character bits in there.

It's probably incomprehensible to non-fanboys, but as a Challenge of the Super Friends Fanboy Wetdream, it couldn't be any better.

Because DC are money-grabbing bastards? It failed with me though and took a book that I would have considered buying in one or two volumes and turned it into one that I'll wait until the price comes right down before I buy on eBay .

haven't seen anything about Justice soft covers or an omnibus. So singles or the HCs are your choices.

Either buy the single issues or wait for a paperback version of the trades. The artwork is excellent and the story is ambitious, but it fell short of the potential in many places. Sometimes important things happen, but neither the writing nor the artwork actually communicates clearly what just happened, and that's a failure of storytelling. It repeatedly knocked my out of the flow of an otherwise interesting story, as I struggled to grasp a given plot twist. But it was very nearly a legendary high point for the JLA, and certainly better than anything else in comics featuring the JLA in the last several years.

Justice IMO is simply the best JLA story ever done, Ross and co. delievered an amazing story with feels epic from beggining to end. The artwork is just beautiful and every issue has several mark out momments that will make you glad to be a comic book fan.

I read the first volume of this! I know, shocking, right? The art work is so real looking!

Thanks for your input guys. I know some of you said it's a money-grabbing scheme, but I went ahead and bought the hardcovers off Amazon for $40.77. That's slightly less than if I got all the individual issues at cover price ($41.98), so I figured, why not?

My hardcovers came and they are awesome! I'm so glad I bought them. It's got everything from the single issues and more! It has all the variant covers, more villain sketches, and lots of pencilled pages. And I absolutely love the awesome wraparound covers on each volume. So, I would definitely say it was worth it! :D
