Recently, there have been a few titles that have seemingly been cut too short for fans.

What other Vertigo titles do you feel were axed too soon?

Recent ones that where cut too short before there time for me has been. Crossing Midnight, The Exterminators, and Testament. Other titles that come to mind are Swamp Thing (Brain K Vaughn's run) and The Witching.

I'll agree about THE EXTERMINATORS. And I also think that AMERICAN VIRGIN didn't get a fair shake.

I couldn't get into Vaughn's SWAMP THING run, but do feel that Volume 4 was cut too short. Right when that book was finding its footing... *swoosh* axed.

Oh yeah the last series. It was kinda messed up at the beginning with Diggle writing and it was still wobbly for a while after. But finally when Josh Dystrat came onboard it finally started to find it's way. But then it was axed, too bad it was going somewhere interesting.

I think American Virgin was given more than enough time.

And I usually like The Exterminators, but the recent one about the latino terrorist teenager stunk to high heaven. Phew.

Ha! I really liked the terrorist episode. :p

Maybe im missing something, but how did they let the kid walk away with his mom after knowing he was the one involved in the prior bombing?

And how did they say there were no fatalities when the mother and her baby are clearly ripped to bit after she gropes the offending cantaloupe?

About the only thing I did like was the last scene with the girl taking a peek at the mysterious suitcase, and paying a steep price for it.

I don't think any of these titles were axed too soon. They all had their chance to gain readers and failed. It's inevitable that if a title is released monthly and does poorly monthly, it won't continue to be published monthly. Which is why I think the Vertigo imprint at least should consider publishing more exclusively in graphic novels.

Course these titles where axed too soon the writers had planned far beyond the actual number of issues they where given. There where only cancelled because they couldn't meet whatever monthly sales quota that DC executives set. All these titles had found some sort of fan base.

American Virgin and Outlaw Nation were two of my favorites. And it's a shame that there was never another Nevada mini.
