Hellboy Animated 101

got a response on the HBII forums from Guillermo del Toro himself regarding the next trailer:
I believe the new TRAILER will come out SOON enough- but even that will only scratch the surface of whats in the movie. We are 20% through the VFX and CGI enhancing of the ANIMATRONICS so- some of the BEST stuff will be a surprise. Im back in London- so much to catch up to...
SOON, eh? here's my theories:
It'll be out:
1. this week with "Doomsday", along with tomorrow night's "Hulk 2" teaser
2. Some other film between now and NYCC
3. He'll premiere it at NYCC
Anyone agree?

He had already mentioned that he thought it would hit this month so, we'll see.

Wow...20%! I am anxious to see what Guillermo has in store for us in Trailer 2 - the first one blew me away and there wasn't a lot of CG work done yet! Just goes to show that a great director doesn't have to rely on the CG element to impress.
My prediction for the new trailer...
Sometime between now and July 13th. But I have been wrong before. ;

Have we gotten a confirmed release date for the film?
And how accurate is a release date this far in advance?
it's suppose to be 7-11 but who knows...ironman just got bumped up to 4-30

I'm excited to hear about cgi-enhanced animatronics. I love seeing the combination of stuff rather than one or the other. I particularly loved the look in the Where The Wild Things Are test footage that's been floating around. Can't wait!!

I really hope this thing lives and breathes as its own entity, completely separate from the comic but just as weird and wonderful. I have a pretty good feeling about it so far. Also, I cannot wait to see Johann in action.

The only thing that worries me about this movie is the love story aspect. I really hope it's pushed to the background a bit more. But with the rumor of Johann coming between Liz and HB I'm thinking it's right up front.
I really didn't like that part of the first film...but to each their own.

I didn't mind the love story between HB and Liz, I just wasn't happy that it was Liz and HB. I'd have preferred Liz and Abe, or something along those comic lines.

The trailer description is out from the ShoWest unveiling. Great stuff. Can't wait to see and hear Perlman deliver the killer lines.

I have this :
Trailer description from Showestnews from Comingsoon
The new trailer opens at the Blackwoods auction house where they're putting the Royal Crown of Bethmoora up for auction when Luke Goss' Prince Nuada shows up to reclaim it, and his henchman Mr. Wink crashes through a door with what looks like his metal fist dangling from a chain. It then cuts to the BPRD headquarters to reintroduce the concept of the BPRD being called upon to deal with supernatural occurrences, and Hellboy, Liz and Abe Sapien show up at the location which is completely trashed and empty, and Hellboy says something to Liz, like "There's no one here, babe" and she retorts "Don't call me babe!" which he responds, "I didn't call you babe, I said 'Hey!'" Hellboy makes a comment about it not looking good when thousands of Thooth Fairies, tiny winged creatures with sharp teeth fly out from the shadows of the walls attacking them. The rest of the trailer is very quick and goes by very fast, but we finally see Princess Nuala and get glimpses of a lot of the creatures of the Troll Market including Cathedral Head, and after we see one of the more hideous creature, it cuts to Hellboy yelling "I see you" and we see that the creature is disguised as an old bag lady (presumably this is the creature referred to as "Bag Lady" in the production office). We see more of Hellboy fighting against the Golden Army, the giant mechanical beetles that Prince Nuada brings to life, and more of his fight with Mr. Wink with the two of them smashing their stone fists together and Wink's fist crumbling as he looks at the results and whines. The final scene is the street scene with the giant Elemental but this time Hellboy yells at the creature, "Now you've done it. You woke the baby!" and pulls out his Big Baby gun.
Thanks Lilitu, sounds even more awsome.:D
