New to the HB forum

I have not picked up any Hellboy comics since the Hollow Earth TPB and the five Hellboy TPBs like 5 or 6 years ago although have purchased all the novels. The owner of my comic store threw in a free copy of the new Abe Sapien series as a gift and I really liked it, so I think I need to start picking up TPBs of the old stuff. Poor, poor pocketbook.

I'm mainly a Marvel girl, btw, growing up on the original X-Factor, New Mutants and X-Force and anything Peter David, like the new X-Factor. But I'd love to hop on a new title where there isn't a freaking crossover which requires me to buy extra books to keep up :rolleyes:

I am totally with you on Peter David! And crossover crap. Get on the BPRD train right now! Great current stuff and upcoming this summer.

I was a Marvelite for most of my younger years, but really grew out of some of them and found such titles as Hellboy and many of the Vertigo titles by DC. Mainstream DC has been well written, as well, of late...particularly anything by Geoff Johns (who really gets what comics are meant to be).

Love me some Dark Horse, though...and Hellboy has had me right from "hello".

I just bought a half-dozen trades today, so now I can catch up and contribute. And I added the new BPRD title to my pull list. Man, a lot of good stuff in these.

Welcome. I too am devoted to PAD's X-Factor. I sort of come and go here, but these are some really nice folks. You don't get the snark found on other parts of the CBR board. I hope you are picking up both the new Abe Sapien and BPRD, they are both tremendous.
