Hi all,
after years of secretively eyeballing this superb forum to keep up-to-date HB/Mignola-wise, I finally bring myself to properly introduce myself:
I am Keez L., live in the Netherlands (work at the municipal historic archive of the small city of Wageningen) and I really like everything Mignola. Right, having that out of the way...

I'm always amazed at home many people lurk in our forums without joining in. Don't they know it's not polite to stare...

We're nice. Welcome!

...Except on Talk Like a Pirate Day. Then we're downright salty.

Welcome into the light after your long, dark lurk.:D

I don't mind the staring... It's the poking that bugs me!

Oooh now there's a day to mark on my calendar, rattle my plywood! - no that's not it... I'll get there though, when the day comes. Since I did have scurvy once already (when veal-sushi was still my thing).

So that wàs you. So sorry, kind of lost my arrow-thingy there I guess, trying to 'close this window'.

My first post here. I have been reading HB and BPRD for a few years. Love it, and I know that Mignola had a lot of influences from the likes of Lovecraft. Can anyone recommend some novels that are along the same vein as HB? I know Baltimore, but would love some choices from people who love Mignola's work.

Well, trying hard to think past classic cracks like sir Edgar Allan Poe and such, which you probably know already. Mainly because I've been delving deep (with only occasionally coming up for air) into the beautiful dark that is Baltimore and otherwise Haruki Murakami's books, which I must read all and those are not particularly Lovecraftian but more like Kafka and stunning. Still, Murakami and Kafka's short stories are what I'd recommend.
