Ozymandias' is the only one I have a problem with, and that's more the color choice. It should not be heavy in its blacks and silvers, it needs to be over the top in its purples. Night Owl SHOULD be leather brown, but the darker color doesn't bother me at all.

Overall, for a comic-into-a-movie, they're not bad at all and it fits well within its universe.

Y'Know what? These are damn faithful.

I can't even remember the differences when I look at these, aside from more detail. These capture the essence of Gibbons' designs... and while Ozy looks a bit more slight than I remember him and Nite Owl looks like he lost 20 pounds (but retained his barrel chested frame), everybody else looks like I remember them.

Heck, the Comedian looks like Gibbons drew him and somebody painted over it. Laurie has the right face and look, Rorshach is Rorshach, and I think this will probably be the best Moore adaptation to date.

If it manages to be a decent film, that would be a start.

no.. they have feet :P

*laughs*...yeah, i just meant that they're way too slick and dark...part of the brilliance of the GN is that the bright colors masked the dark under currents of the book which basically was a juxtaposition to the overall theme of the story...it will be interesting to she how they translate that in the film, but based on the costume, i'm not sure where they're headed...

I couldn't find a good representation of him in the costume, but this is close.

They're maybe a little too hollywood, but I think we can all agree that if Watchmen ends up sucking, it won't be because of the costumes.

...Like female comics characters HAVEN'T, for decades...?

And, while w haven't seen the ORIGINAL Silk Spectre's costume, I gotta say that I LOVE the garters holding the gloves and stockings/boots up on this one, and I'm betting that they're an homage to Mom's old costume.

...And I'm guessing that the '40s heroes will be the bright colors, while as we get closer to 1980, the darker colors that we see here will come out.

Overall, between the costumes and the street set that we've seen, I'm REALLY liking what I'm seeing.

(Please, Whomever; DON'T LET THEM SCREW THIS ONE UP!)

Itīs one thing to put it in the comic (hey, I have a couple too!), but in real life?

I kind of like them. It's not how I was picturing it in my head - like others have said, a bit too dark and slick looking - but I can live with it. Of all the things that could sink this movie, costumes are way down the list.

I'm glad Silk Specter looks like an ugly stick figure which is all that comic deserves and I can't wait for this movie to bomb ahahah. >:D

So, no Doc Manhattan?

Comedian & Rorschach are about perfect.

hopefully the rest of the story works.

edit:
I know he's in the flick, just wondeing about the way he'll look.

Ozymandias looks like crap in every respect but the others are great. Well, Silk Spectre needs to eat something. Jesus, the girl's a scarecrow. That was a fundamental casting error.

After seeing the Silver Surfer I'm fairly confident Dr Manhattan will work out alright. Blue guy, very few clothes. I always thought that he and Rorschach would be the easiest to get right. I agree about the Comedian though - that's spot on.

Yeah, because dancers never wear heels.

As to the costumes, they're fine. I'm not too interested in the film, and it's my favorite comic ever. So, whatever.

I - sighing as I type this - reckon it'll all be done using long shots and conveniently located lamps. That, or he'll be wearing his thong throughout.

I think it'll be enjoyable enough if you haven't read the book, but the rest of us will be sobbing at the back somewhere. Especially if they haven't changed the ending back; I remember reading somewhere that they ditched the original one, but I hope there's been a change since.

I was completely off on this film until they suprised me with the brilliant casting of Jackie Early Haley as Rorschach.

Easily the most perfect bit of casting for a film since they made Chris Reeve Superman.

Eh, I'm sure it will probably be a pretty fun, but dumb, average superhero movie. I doubt it's going to get any of the themes of the book right though. I'm getting a V For Vendetta vibe from it, which V was fine as a standalone movie, but it was a mockery of the source material.

HAHA! :)

Sweet costume, btw. I especially like when people say heels are unrealistic for characters that can fly.

Anyhow, as I've said often before, super-hero costumes are simply not meant to be realistic. They are meant to look good.

I can see, for purposes of the movie, him having to wear pants or shorts.

IIRC in the comic, he does have publicity handlers who would tell him to put clothing on.

I think that's why they've borrowed OwlMan of Earth 2's headgear with the cowl chinpiece, to basically hide the double chin.

LOL
Somehow, bad luck doesn´t seem to do justice to my track record with published stuff.. :p

Infiniteens is back on the freezer til 2379.
Right now, I´m in indy realm; providing pencils and inks for Rebecca Hicks´Project Elohim and waiting for Mike Bullock´s script for Phantom#26 to clear so I can get back to my swashbuckling ways. :)

And of course I have my lovely Nadra, (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=18670&page=35)if you´re into homeless superheroines with a couple marbles missing... :D
