stop being fucking awesome.....

ok not kissing ass here....but you are knocking this shit out of the park.....damn man I am bloody impressed....here is a guy I never really heard of outside of some posts on the message board here.....but thanks in a lot of ways to Melissa I've fallen in love with this damn series and every issue has looked better and better. I feel like ass as I'm the only single person in my shop buying it *cough* Gail *cough*(I'm gonna pimp the shit out of it so hopefully poeple buy the trade I hope will come....please say there will be a trade) but seriously Chris from Around Comics has been helping me and a group of my pals in Eugene set up our own little fun podcast deal and ne of our segments is between me and the other big comic fan where we each buy a book the other is reading that noone else seems to be .....honestly the main reason for this post is that my choice to make him read is the bloody overman. I'm loving it. I can't pinpoint exactly why but it's been a great read since day one. so yeah.....I guess this kind of is ass kissing...but seriously dude.....keep up this quality of work because I'm loving the hell out of what you guys are doing.

This is totally drunkenly crosssposted from the around comics forum....

Who are Scott and Melissa reed?
Scott writes an ace comic called The Overman, and his lovely wife Melissa is otherwise known as Sunshinegirl. And they really do need to stop being so awesome, because it's making us all look really bad.

I haven't met Scott but Melissa is a great person. So I'm thinking Scott must be pretty swell too because I don't see Melissa settling for something that isn't at least pretty darn good or better.

Scott is the shit. I haven't gone up to see them in forever...I need to call soon.

Melissa is a trip. I call her "sweetness"

An appropriate title considering what a sweetheart she is. :D I like to call Scott "Captain Kickass McFuckyeah," mostly because I finally got to read Overman and it's "kickass, fuck yeah!," but also because I've never met him and I think I can get away with it until I do. ;) Unless he likes it, in which case I would like to ask him for such an autograph sometime. :p

This is all very flattering and ridiculous, but thanks. Just to clarify, The Overman is written by me, illustrated by Shane White. Melissa, my lovely wife, has for reasons I can't fathom, supported my various hair-brained schemes of comic book conquest over the years. I certainly haven't conquered it, but we're settling for getting more people to actually notice The Overman, and telling a friend or two. I hope you'll help spread the word about our efforts, and this work. You can find lots more about it at:

I dips me lid to them both.

I haven't been to the comic book store in what seems like eons because I'm broker than broke right now, but last time I was there I picked up issue #1 and thought it was pretty cool. Kudos to you Scott for a job well done, and to Sunny for being such a great wife/PR representative. :)

Overman is so damn good that it gives me that really weird feeling back when I first read comics over 20 years ago, that feeling of the new and the scary and the sexy and the weird all jaggedly mashedup together and injected into my brain from my belly button.

It's THAT good.

You get to look on in mild amusement at comic cons when groupies come up to your husband and ask to have their boobs signed. :D

Though the problem with Scott, is he wouldn't just sign it...he'd have to throw in plot twists and disturbing surreal moments, rendering the tit useless to its owner.

No tit is useless, ever! And an Overman comic on a pair of boobs? That instantly raises their value. And considering how valuable all boobs are anyway, that's a mint, fella!

Please don't give him any ideas! I don't wanna wake up some morning with notes and overman symbols all over me! :p

Whole team???

DUO...brother, Duo! Like Lee and Kirby...only better looking. :)

Seriously though, I'm really glad you dug it. I can't wait to read the whole thing in one sitting myself.

For whatever reason I keep finding new shit...stuff I might have forgot about or see it a different way than I did the first, second, third, fourth and fifth time I've read the thing.
