“Better Days” is not Matthews’ first foray into the “Firefly” ‘verse. The writer also penned the bestselling “Serenity: Those Left Behind,” a three-issue miniseries bridging the gap between the “Firefly” television series and the “Serenity” feature film.

Um, you do know he wrote an episode of the actual show, right? "Heat of Gold." How could anyone forget the beauty of Jayne and whores? :D
