I've read issues 0 to 10 of this great series, it's an excellent take on the Lovecraft mythos, i must say i cannot wait for 11 to come out, it's really damn great, though i feel kinda sorry for Cy, i wonder if we'll ever see him again, i think the Harlot's (obvious Shub Niggurath avatar character) interest in him is an indication that he isn't just random fodder like so many other Lovecraftian heroes.
Has anyone else read this series, and if so what did you think?

I paged through an issue of this series a few months back, and the artwork and coloring turned me off. However, I did pick up the zero issue of Boom's Salem: Queen Of Thorns and found it to be outstanding. Definitely one I'm adding to my pull list. Best Clint Eastwood vs Rutger Hauer story ever.

Loved the first arc. The second arc ... not so much, but certainly worth reading.
Without sitting down (since I can't, seeing as how I'm at work right now) & glancing through each recent issue, my impression is that the last few ishes have dealt quite a bit with the Dreamlands aspect(s) of HPL's Mythos (Mythoses? Mythii?), which never did a whole lot for me even as penned by Lovecraft himself.
Ish #9 I found almost painfully tedious, but probably that's because of the masked girl's rhyming dialogue.
The Harlot is definitely an interesting character, but for me, visually she imparts a rather jarring (considering the nature of the series) Yellow Submarine, Blue Meanie-ish vibe. That's hardly a deal-breaker, though ... just a bit offputting.

Enjoying it immensely. I don't think a Cthulhu story has ever been told from this perspective.

Let's just say that before it's all said and done, he will probably make an appearance. ;)

I think they've caught Nyarlathotep's "Har har, watch the mortals scurry"-attitude perfectly. The other Mythos entities are either utterly disinterested in Humanity ("Argh, Humans in my sandwich? Again?") or so Alien that it's hard to say whether they have any real malice towards us. The Crawling Chaos is a kid with a magnifying glass and a jones for watching the ants fry. He enjoys his work.
He's also sooo many steps ahead that it's impossible for mortals to win against him. He's seen it all (and is behind most of it).
Wish they'd do a Deep Ones/Innsmouth story arc, though. The whole hybrid thing is seriously creepy.

On the one hand I think featuring Mythos baddies as characters humanises them, which kind of reduces their impact and scariness as ultimately unknowable alien things
On the other hand I've got a soft spot for anything that ports in a bit (or a lot) of Cthulhu, especially when it's settings and genres that are different to the original stories

(so I'm saying I like it)

On this note, i would also like to see the series touching on other various Alien and lesser beings that i felt were a bit underdevelopped, i would personally like to see the Yithians or the Mi-go get at least a mention, and maybe some more talk towards other important human characters in the past, such as Randolph Carter or Herbert West:D

They could follow up the Nodens cultists that Cy encountered.
What do the cultists get in return for ritualistically hunting someone? Riches? Magic? Better parking spaces?
Esoteric Order of Dagon, anyone?
A story arc dealing with Miskatonic University's various ill-fated expeditions would be cool.
Innsmouth High School?

That's actually been one of the more difficult aspects in writing the series. Trying to master that balance of making these beings characters in the story (or at least impacting the story in some way) without taking away their sheer incomprehensiveness (I doubt that's even a word, but I think you know what I mean).
Player 0, we've actually toyed with the idea of doing a story based on the Yithians, though I don't think it's going to come to fruition. What I've been doing is trying to create my own creatures so I have a little more latitude in my story telling. So with the exception of the larger characters involved that help weave the overall tapestry, I probably won't be focusing much on pre-existing characters or creatures. That being said, I do like to give little nods to my favorite HPL stories (in #10 the brain in the bell jar was a hat tip to Herbert West and the fluid that Sysyphyx and Mary steal was a nod to The Color Out of Space).
Sensorboy, we'll be seeing more of Nodens's cultists vs. Cthulhu's cultists and how their conflict affects our main characters. And I like the idea of an MU story. But I think that would have to be its own series, its so rich with possible stories.
Thanks all for reading the series. I appreciate your support and hope to keep you all entertained far into the future.

It's a shame you won't be including more Lovecraftian creatures and characters as i would like to see how you explore them and their histories and legacies in this future time you've developped, and i also agree that it would nice to visit Innsmouth again since they are worshippers of Cthulhu and it only makes sense that if the Deep Ones are still around they would be eager to get involved in the fray since they are among Cthulhu's most devout worshippers. Of course i might just be biased since the Yithians are one of my favorite fictional aliens, and if they can't be included or mentioned perhaps you could include the Elder Things and perhaps the Shoggoths.
I mean who can't like the Shoggoths:D

Yeah I've been enjoying it a lot, a lot of Mythos stuff these days seems kind of jokey and/or pulpy so it's nice to read something that gets back to the nastiness of the original stories. Good dark horror stuff. The brain in a jar was great :D
