While we have to wait an additional year for the return of the 24 series, we are going to be getting a 2 hour prequel to Season 7. This will be done to bridge the 2 year gap between S6 and S7.

After I heard about the bullcrap regarding Almeida, I've become weary. Consider me cautiously curious now.

If it's still in real-time, I kinda hope they call it '2.'

Man, what is with all the long gaps (in story) between seasons? Between every season it seems to be at least a year, sometimes two or three. Jack had a teenage daughter back in season 1...is he suppossed to be in his 50s now?

Jack was supposed to be 36 at season 1. At season 6, he was supposed to be in his mid 40's, I believe.

And, yeah, this thing about Tony supposedly returning made me suspicious too.

The moment Tony got stabbed in the neck by Robocop, I was thinking "he could live, he could live!" Now how he could have lived, without Jack and everybody else being aware of it is another story. But, we've already seen them use perfect face-duplication surgery, way back in season 1, so maybe it's a Tony imposter.

BTW, do the comics and novels have any canon status?

From looking at the photo, I'm slighly dissapointed. I really wanted to see Ricky Schroeder with a pirate patch.

The producers have admitted they usually don't have the show planned ahead as far as they probably should. With all the extra time, I wonder if they'll actually have the whole season ready before it airs.

For your '24' fix there are the Degree deoderant webisodes of the 'Rookie'. They're done by the same film crews that are doing '24'.

The 2 hour movie set as a link between Season Six and Seven will air November 23rd. It will be partially shot in South Africa and involves the inauguration of the president (who is featured in Season 7 as a regular).

I've been meaning check out The Rookie but never gotten around to it. Is it like a '24' story, or is it about a guy battling persperation?

I have Operation Nightfall graphic novel. Not bad, but it reads like it needed to be longer. I might check some of other comics. Here it is, May already, and I haven't seen Jack Bauer kill anybody. It's not right!

The 2 hour TV movie, 24:Exile, has undergone a title change and will now be called 24:Redemption.

50 bucks says Garofalo is a terrorist.
Or Chloe v 2.0.
Except nowhere near as fun.

I think i dropped out midway through s5, wife got sick of it and i couldn't find the time to watch it alone.
Since i don't actually recognize anyone in the cast but keifer (characterwise i mean) i think i'm going to skip it.

Don't worry...Kim is coming back this season. The cougar wanted to come back, but it wanted too much money.

aww season five was my favorite out of all the seasons. mainly because i adored edgar. if you find the time you should finish watching that season. also, i really thought that the first few episodes of season 6 were really good. the curtis/bomb thing was the last good thing to happen in the show.

Well, there was also Jack brutally killing the shit out of the terrorist leader.

While they say it won't affect the start date for the new season, production is being stopped for 18 days so the writing staff can work on scripts.

more shows should do this rather than take a midseason break to tweak scripts.

Well, it can be hard for a lot of shows to shut down for three weeks. 24 is lucky in that they had eight episodes from last season already shot.

And shutting down mid-stream isn't a good sign. Especially when it's because the producers are worried about the quality of the scripts.

With only 2 hours, do you think Jack will be able to strap someone into a chair and torture them??

They should've done this after the 2nd Hour of Season 6.

Well, since 24 doesn't debut until January, I don't think them halting to catch up with the scripts is going to cause any problems.

Apparently Jack Bauer needs a little breather: After the completion of episode 18 on Sept. 15, production on Fox's hit drama 24 will shut down until Oct. 9 while the writers reshape the upcoming season's creative direction -- specifically the transition leading to the end game. "We had a couple of scripts that we weren't happy with," 24 exec producer Howard Gordon tells EW.com. "We just couldn't get this direction to work, and we found another one that we liked better, so we wound up retooling it."

Production shutdowns are usually cause for concern -- and 24 is coming off its least critically beloved season -- but Howard assures fans that everything will be on track, and the season will not be interrupted. He says that the show is ahead of schedule, which means the airing of season 7 -- which begins in January 2009 -- will not be affected. (You may remember that 24 had the first eight episodes of this season in the can when last fall's WGA strike occurred; Fox decided to delay the launch until 2009.) "The only, only, only concern at all is getting it right," Howard says. "Our feeling was this: We're so happy with what we've done so far, and to the extent that we had that luxury [of time], we said, 'Why not make it as good as we could?'"

Character-assassination, I say!

The trailer looks like a lot of fun.

Just hope it doesn't become utterly stupid. 24 (after the first two seasons) became a pretty dumb show, but at least it was enjoyable.

It hit a serious low with season 4, but redeemed itself after season 5.

Then came season 6. I couldn't even make it through the 4th episode before I said forget it.

All man, all that two hour excitement and now we gotta wait till January? Shucks.

But I have to admit, I haven't been keeping up with any 24 news as of late and color me surprised when they revealed that one of Jacko's old buddy has come back from the dead. Wtf?!

Does this mean Nina will come back too? I always had a thing for that actress. mmmmm
