It stars Billy Crudup, Mandy Moore and Tom Wilkinson and I gotta say it restores my faith in movies. Billy portrays one of the most fucked up characters you can imagine. A children's book author with a Child hood so fucked up that he sleeps on the floor with heavy objects on top of him, and thats the most rational thing about him.
Tom Wilkinson plays his artist/best friend/roommate who dies shortly into the movie but sticks around as Billy's in head adviser.
Mandy plays the replacement artist who has problems of her own. Her mother is constantly on the verge of evicting her, her ex-boyfriend wants her back and has dedicated his book to her and his other ex girlfriend and isn't sure which dedication is going into the printed version of the book.
This movie is not wholesome, but it's endearing. Kinda like High Fidelity or Grosse Point Blanke. I highly recommend this movie.
