He means having the thin black frame that is 1 pixel wide around the outside of the avatar picture (see your own currently used avatar as an example). Easily added to any picture via Paint or similar programs.

It's REALLY easy and takes just seconds to do. You can use different software, but instructions for the basic Paint program that comes with Windows XP would be:

1) Open your file
2) View-Zoom-Large Size
3) Select the Box Tool (the next-to-bottom icon on the left side of the double-wide colums...its a black bordered box with a grey interior)
4) Click in the upper left corner of your picture and drag to the lower right (which makes a 1-pixel box frame around the image and you can see if you're right at the edge since you zoomed in).
5) Save your file

It takes just seconds to do...and then your nice avatar work (which is more time consuming than this) would be index-able. Good luck!

Here's a version using your full frame and another that's cropped.

Full frame is 80x69 so not quite standard size (but works since the max dimension is 80).

Cropped version is a true 80x80 square (but since the width was the limiting factor I couldn't get both the full top of his head AND his full pants in...so I settled for part of both).

I hope one of these meets your satisfaction (and I had the software adjust levels and focus...if you prefer the pure original/fuzzy shading let me know and I'll redo them for you with the original uncleaned picture).

If you put a 1-pixel black border around the frame, then you might even get some of these added to the indexed list of avatars... Good work! Don't let that 1-pixel little border stop your work from getting added to the indexed database! It's easy to do (in MS Paint among other places). :D

I'm also not including avatars that are hosted on other sites, including sites like Photobucket or ImageShack. I keep running into situations where I indexed an avatar, only to find out the link's long broken.
