Absolutely brutal stuff.
Aaron/Guera are in full stride for this one (after a relatively tame issue previous).
The scene with Mr. Brass (a one-armed Hmong enforcer that's one helluva new character) and Clyde the junkie in the police interrogation room is not for the squeamish.
Nice, memorable issue.

Mr. Brass is one creepy mofo. I kept waiting for him to ask: "Is it safe?" :D

I'm finding Red Crow more and more sympathetic as this series progresses.
The man is sacrificing his morals in hopes of making the reservation a better place.
Ruthless criminal? Yes, but he has more heart in him than some of the characters in this book. The reaction he had with Bad Horse had an emotional impact for me. The guy truly loved Gina. Bad Horse has his moments as well.
The kid his looking after has Bad Horse reconnecting with his late mother.
Mr.Brass is truly a horrifying individual so far.
Can't wait for the next issue!

I do believe that the stage is set for a conflict between Red Crow and the Hmong business partners down the road.

I don't see no bright future for Mr.Brass with people like Bad Horse, Diesel, or Red Crow's associates in town. :P
Too many variables going to lead to bullets flying everywhere.

Not only a great issue, Aaron's writing of Dash coming back to his childhood home and seeing the arrowhead collection...hits hard and a little bit of an emotional kneecapping. I like that Dash took on Shelton as his surrogate as both are looking for closure.
As Agent Topor, the humanization of Red Crow is nice but there's sometimes you just want him to be a total tool. I do love this series.

This is definitely my favorite comic right now! Aaron writes gritty, real dialogue. I want to compare this book to customers, and can only offer up 100 Bullets (a poor comparison, I know). However, Azzarello sinks into a monotonous dialogue, just as Bendis always has -- where if you don't see on the page who is speaking, you wouldn't be able to tell!
Scalped's latest issue was gut-wrenching! How many different ways has Bad Horse been twisted so far in this series? Talk about fleshing out a character! This book is completely vicious!
