are there any moments in comics that literally made you want to throw the book against the wall out of fury? this doesn't happen with me as I'm fairly jaded--but not entirely stoic... but here's an exception.
I was just re-reading 'Charley's War' by Mills and Colquhoun and I have to say one of the most awful and wretched moment in that comic is when Lt David Thomas is court-martialed for cowardice and is shot to death by his own men! the same soldiers who would've been slaughtered in combat apart from his order to retreat were the same ones that the generals wanted to execute him.
it was truly disgusting.
[I've gotta say that 'Charely's War' is an exceptionally good comic book-- the narrative was appalling, but the comic book is one of the best war comics I've ever read--highly recommended-- good writing, splendid art, and historically accurate too. I realize most of the descriptions added on to this thread have been people disgusted by bad writing--whereas in this case I must admit I was disgusted by good writing]
feel free to post some others as you see fit... I'm curious to find out what stories have made other CBR Rumblers furious.

The Joker shooting Barbara Gordon, stripping her clothes off(Which is the same as raping her in my opinion.) then taking photos of it and showing them to Commisioner Gordon, the girl's FATHER and all he gets in return is...wait for it...a shot in the knee.

After Ultimates 1 and 2, I really started getting a kick out of Hitch's more realistic (so to speak) artwork. When you're intertwining political subtext into a story, it helps to have realistic looking characters. Of course, I'm holding Leob's "writing" on the same level as Millar's, when really it's more like crappy fanfiction.
You're right, Joe's artwork isn't really bad, but I don't think it should be anywhere near the Ultimates. I just don't think it fits.

From what I recall, the battle was set right after the events of Final Night, when Superman was still trying to get his powers back.
Still, it was a pretty bad fight anyway.
I think in the same series, Cannonball was playing tug of war with Aquaman (I know he used to be a joke, but COME ON), and Bishop had J'onn on the ropes, without even using his energy powers.

I really want to see the meeting between Joe Q and Jeph Loeb.
Joe: "So, what do you plan on doing with The Ultimates?"
Jeph: Well, Y'know those characters that Millar developed over 26 issues? Well, I'm gonna throw them out and just treat them like bad versions of the regular Avengers. Then, I'm gonna treat it like a bad Avengers comic and kill someone in the first issue.
Joe:...SOUNDS GREAT!

Really? Cause I would ask him why Batgirl is still paralyzed when any 10 scientists as close as Metropolis could grow her an entirely new body if she wanted one, for a fraction of a fraction of Bruce Wayne's worth.

Everytime Kyle Ranyer appears on panel in Countdown.
He gets more and more useless with every issue. The writer obviously has no idea how powerful Green Lanterns actually are, much less how good of a GL Kyle is.
Almost anything Loeb has written, especially when it concerns Darkseid.
Death of the New Gods, as a whole.
Sasuke's godawfully boring fights with Deidara and Itachi.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I hear that.
Speaking of terrible writing: the Thundercats/Battle of the Planets one-shot made some years ago. Gah... terrible. Effectively nothing even really happens, just the characters spitting out short lines of dialogue, then posing together on panels, and suddenly, everythings put back to normal, end with lame joke. I mean, some one told me they were just trying to make it in the spirit of the 80's cartoon, but in the cartoons, at least stuff happened. Biggest waste of 4 bucks I ever spent on a comic.

Yeah. Rayner has been getting Chumped out and the Bad Dialog dosen't help none.

I think so, honestly-- hell, not even the ridiculous emphasis on Super-Saiyins in DBZ was quite THIS bad! at least Toriyama deliberately wrote Goku out of the story with a completely inexplicable illness to try and force readers to give a crap about some of the other characters AND gave Piccolo a huge power-up. Kishimoto hasn't even done THAT much-- he just has Sasuke more or less pissing on all of his adversaries in contempt and ignoring a large and interesting supporting cast.
it's fine if the fight went on for awhile--but hell, take a cue from Star Wars and build up the suspense by jumping to another fight in the middle of Sasuke vs Itachi. just when you think Luke Skywalker's just about to get hacked to pieces by Vader you jump over to see how Leia, Chewie, and the droids are escaping certain death... or something.
and Kishimoto needs to bring back Rock Lee and Gaara and have them kick ass again.

I still think it's sad that Toriyama wanted to write about Gohan but fan reactions made him change his mind.
I'd have much preferred Goku not to be around after the Cell Saga. It was great way for Gohan to take the mantle.

Ahh, the Wall-Banger. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WallBanger) What have we not gotten to yet....
Three Words: One. More. Day.
I have to admit Hudlin's run on Black Panther started out as this. Came off a a bad fanfic from the 'Wakanda Had Ubertech Forever' to 'Africans Talk Like They Are From The Hood' to 'White People are Disrespectful, withold the Cure For Cancer'. It has not gotten better.
I have to admit War Games was condensed stupid, while War Crimes was even worse.
You recall the Death Spiral of Comics threads. Dig it up and you will find plenty.
Louise Simonson's runon the old New Mutants title... well the rot that bottomed out with early X-Force started long before (Doug Ramsey getting killed off for drama's sake was the tipping point).

the gwen and osborn thing makes me feel sick who ever came up whit that crap deservs to be dumt into the warp.

The reason why that sort of dead horse beating whining is always thrown on Batman alone instead of also asking why, say, Spider-Man and Daredevil don't kill their Rogues Galleries as well never ceases to baffle me.

What they did to Cassandra Cain after Infinite Crisis, thankfully they sort of fixed it.

I would have to say too many crossover big events are ruining comic continuity and creative writing in general. the only book in marvel I have picked up recently that I have givin a damn about is iron fist. dont get me wrong hulk is intresting but a red hulk just dosent sit right with me. and most of the past 3 wolverine arcs were not to great though for some resone I continue to buy them...I think I might just start picking up more dc to fill the void marvel has left in my disapoted geek soul.
