For a fun little turn of events, I thought it'd be fun if we all give 'endings' to some Marvel superheroes.
(You can either give a hero an ending, or discuss how you think they'd end up). For example...you have a feeling the Punisher will go out taking down a bunch of vile bastards, etc.
I'll start:
Spider-Man:
Really, I see him as the Peter Parker in Spider-Girl. Settling down, married to MJ, with a baby--(but a son)--and raising his family. And he can still have his career with the police force. But before he retires as Spider-Man, he should have an epic, final--and I mean final--confrontation with Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin. Norman dies--for good, this time--and Peter walks away with some normal injuries--and leg intact. (Come on...with all the shit Peter has had in his life, he needs to be crippled?) Nah, I say give Peter a happy ending...he sure has earned it.
Wolverine:
I don't know...I always saw Logan leaving the X-Men (see X-Men below), and venturing off to do two things:
--Find out more about his past, to come to terms with his life, and
--Travel the world, just helping people. He could chalk it up to all the 'horrible things' he's done in all his years alive.
Hulk:
I thought that the Hulk should maybe lose all control--go crazy, crazy, crazy. Savage x 10. Then the army, S.H.I.E.L.D, all of 'em, come and try to stop him. Then, they corner him in an area, drop some sort of recently created bomb that can stop him, and it leaves Banner in a coma, and the Hulk seemingly dead. Few years go by...Bruce wakes up, and after being checked for Hulk cells several times a day, to ensure the Hulk is no more, he goes under employment of SHIELD. Maybe working in some secluded lab in New Mexico, working on 'secret shit' for Fury, and SHIELD. Banner works alone, in seclusion, and has some doubt that the Hulk is really dead--but prays that he is.
Eventually--and I'm gonna skip some story--Hulk isn't dead, comes on out, but Banner realizes he can control him. He can transform into the Hulk at will, retains his intelligence, etc. And when he isn't doing 'smartwork' for Fury, is out dealing with the nasty stuff as the Hulk.
Iron Man:
Goes into retirement, to run his company. Creates Mainframe (from A-Next) to take work side by side with Jim Rhodes, who now uses the Iron Man armor and name, as he doesn't want to settle down just yet.
Then something big happens--one of those big 'you have to see this' events--and Tony comes back into action. I had a scenario where he was forced to sacrifice himself to ensure the heroes victory, and does so, and dies. Shortly after, Jim is still in the role. We see an Iron Man armor in storage move...
Then Jim is out, fighting something/someone, who is giving him a hard time. Then...Iron Man arrives, to help.
After the two subdue the person/thing, Jim naturally has some questions, and sees it as a trick, and all that. This Iron Man explains that he is indeed Tony--proves it--and then tells Jim how he (some reason) became able to transfer his consciousness instantly into an armor upon his death.
*I got the idea from Fantastic Four: The End, where Iron Man gets destroyed, and Vision says:
"Tony Stark's organic form died years ago, Ayesha. His consciousness will have instantly transferred to another host."
So, even if he gets destroyed, he transfers instantly into another armor. I liked the idea, thought it was cool. Figured it'd be something Stark would do.
X-Men:
Maybe Apocalypse or someone gets bigger and badder, and the there's a big mutant war, or the such...then it comes down to the X-Men and Magneto having to stop him...so, in a big, climactic battle, Xavier and Magneto die stopping Apocalypse. The X-Men decide to disband. Wolverine goes his own ways, Beast maybe works for the government, Nightcrawler joins a Church, Colossus heads home to Russia, Cyclops and Jean--that's right, Jean--run the school, and Cyclops says it's for the gifted--no more X-Men. (Kind of like in Ultimate X-Men.) Eventually, though, he gives in, and a new X-Men team is formed. (Etc, etc.)
I'll have more later, dinner time! :p
