one of the scariest and disgusting horror movies ever made is getting the remake treatment, either its comming out fall this year or early 2009. Im eagerly awating this movie and i was wondering what your thoughts on this are.
Side note for mods: if i posted this already (which i dont recall) just close the topic and give me a PM.

i wonder if its a carbon copy of the original with fake scenes, or a real mondo film. (which i highly doubt)

You can't remake "Faces Of Death". 90% of the film was real stuff. Just making a carbon copy means nothing.

Actually, most of the stuff on Faces of Death was very, very fake. When multiple camera angles are presented for what is supposed to be a "caught on film" moment it's not too hard to figure out.

Actually, believe it or not, a lot was real.
There were very(VERY) fake moments, but scenes like the gassing chamber were real.

besides, with today's internet, it's not like it's too hard to find some pretty gruesome stuff out there. I only saw the original, not any others. The thing that would sadden me would be any real animal deaths they decide to go through again.

I have no idea why anyone would like to watch it in the first place.

Because seeing people die is not something the average person ever see's in their life, and to some, like myself, find a kind of facination/curiosity about it.
I liked to be shocked. It stimulates my mind.
But to be honest, Faces of Death was pathetic. Old-ass grainy footage, a lot it was fake or staged, and the narrator was a cooke.
There was one about 15 years ago called "Images of Death" which was either a rip-off or continuation of "Faces" but it that one, it was hardcore death, blood, guts and gore.
About 90mins of people getting fucked up in all kinds of ways: suicides, murders, executions, accidents, war, animal attacks......the works.
I've only seen Faces of Death 1 & 2, so does anyone know if 3 and 4 are any good and worth watching, or are they just as crap as the first 2?

That is a great point, actually.
The thing is, while I believe "Faces Of Death" to be an incredibly sick and twisted for of entertainment that has no place being made, it somehow stimulates certain people to see something potentially life threatening, which may not happen to them in real life to the point where they believe it to be exciting.

Most of it was fake, not to mention rubbish.
Really what is the bloody point of anyone remaking this unless they do it as a piss take?

I remember seeing a few different versions of these films in high school. Lots were fake, but some were real. I remember watching one called TRACES OF DEATH, which was just whatever, but there were some real scenes, we actually looked a few up online to see if they checked out.
There was one that the band Filters song Hey Man Nice Shot was based on, in which a guy pulled a pistol out of a manilla envelope and shoots himself at a press conference.
Harsh.
But yeah it was basically a bunch of us just curious about it.
Not something I would watch on a regular basis at all.

I found I developed an aversion to this stuff after I hit 17yo.
