I don't know if this was brought up before, but do you think any of the Skrulls secretly living on Earth were affected by Wanda's reality warp? I may have to reread the story, but was everyone accounted for in the House of M reality? Maybe someone wished that there would be no more Skrulls which might explain any missing heroes during HOM. Just a thought I guess.

I'd first try and think of someone who hates Skrulls that much to wish there were none, if there is someone then that idea could work.

How about the Kree? They showed up in at least the Thunderbolts tie-in.

I heard Bendis was going to get to this topic but in an unconventional manner from what I gathered of the podcast.

Are there any Kree living on Earth now? or at least when House of M was happening.

I can't say I remember any on earth as of recent, most of them like to stick to space.

Considering Wanda wasn't aware of the Skrulls... her woogie would likely just altered them into the 'Real' versions of who they were replacing during House of M. Since it altered memories of people so they believed the alteration was true. Of course, that could also explain any Skrulls who don't know they're really Skrulls now.

Genis-Vell was on Earth at the time.

which heroes, and i guess they have to be important ones for this to work, were left out of House of M?

I don't think so. But that's me. I think she was manipulated by them, but not one herself. They used her to wipe out mutants and get rid of a big earthly threat that helps them take over the earth. She's the real deal, they need to fix the mutant population both in the books and on the retail shelves somehow. ;)

I think its interesting that the two "mutant" titles that feature depowered mutants, X-Factor and New Warriors, are the only ones featured in Secret Invasion.

Connection?!???

I think yes.

I dont know i think it would be kinda risky for them to drive an insanely powerful witch crazy in hopes that she would get mad at her father and spite him by wiping out the mutants.

would have been a cool set up for Quicksilver being a Skrull but Son of M sort of messes that idea up.

Interesting observation! Layla is a Bendis creation, so I think she will, at the very least, play a role in SI, though I don't think she's a Skrull. Peter David really fleshed her out well in X-Factor (which I read up until Messiah Complex), and her chaos-effect-event-connection-understanding is a terrific addition to the character. Perhaps she (or the Cage-Jones baby) will have the ability to detect Skrulls or something.

The New Warriors are all depowered mutants, right? (I haven't read the title.) Who's on the team and what connection do they have to the Avengers/Illuminati/rest-of-the-Marvel-U-characters?

Not at all. The House of M and Son of M and subsequent Quicksilver appearences are actually the Skrull repalcement for Pietro that now thinks and IS Pietro thanks to Wanda's magic. Somewhere my arrogant, slightly bigoted, disturbed but still heroic Quicksilver is being held by the Skrulls.

At this point, I not only don't mind but encourage Layla to be a plot device. I'd really like it if she had a connection to the Skrulls in addition to M-Day.

Yes, the New Warriors are all depowered mutants.

The characters are Bandit (now Night Thrasher II), Jubilee (now Wondra), Chamber (now Decibel), Wind Dancer (now Renascence), Angel Salvadore (now Tempest), Beak (now Blackwing), and a couple other people who either were never fleshed out.

The series has been accused of characterizing the characters strangely, so its really possible for any number of them to be Skrulls.

Cool, thanks! I hope Layla plays into SI as well, but I still highly doubt she's a Skrull. So does Beak just look like a normal guy now? I'm guessing from the name "Blackwing" that he is still able to fly somehow. To be honest, if any of those characters turned out to be Skrulls I wouldn't care much - but then again, I'm not reading the book. (Though I don't think they should have depowered Jubilee, though probably no one would be using her had they not).

Wanda's been a Skrull-controlled weapon this entire time, there watching DVD runs of the whole thing for shits and giggles.

I think Messiah Complex derails any Layla involvement with Secret Invasion.

hey I was reading the Marvel Spotlight on Secret Invasion and it says that there is a "blink and you miss it" appearance of a skrull in House of M, anyone know what issue that's in?
