New Line Cinema has been absorbed into Warner Bros. ever lofty fat cells. (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117981598.html?categoryid=13&cs=1)
The house that Freddy built has been assimilated into the gargantuan that is WB.
No more epics for them, which might be a good thing. Might or might not. Sounds like back to basics, really.

That's funny. Didn't New Line kinda sorta own Marvel for a few minutes, more or less?
Oh joy, I can just see the tearaway cut scenes and heavy metal on The Hobbit trailers any second now.

Just a one way ticket to midnight.
New Line owned mainstream horror during the eighties. And yes, Marvel, for about .4 seconds. Or something like that. Either way, one of them sucked, and it wasn't New Line.

Considering how much New Line have apparently been cooking the books, this may be a good thing. Though Warners have quite the nerd catalogue now (all of DC and its subsidiaries, as well as LOTR - assuming they can resolve their issues with the Tolkien estate...and the Pullman books!?)
