The term "Tomb of the Gods" is used in some Egyptian stuff, so I think this'll probably be an Egyptian-related adventure ala Raiders.

Oustanding news. How about a Hellboy/Indiana Jones crossover, Dark Horse?

Dark Horse's old Indy comics were always hit or miss with me. Here's hoping this one's a hit.

Are you on crack? Both characters are great but this is a mixture that will not work.It can only come across as hokey and stupid. There isn't even a logical answer as to how and why these characters would meet. Why stop with A hellboy indina Jones crossover how a bout a Indiana Jones / Predator crossover or Indiana Jones? Star Wars crossover...you know cause it would be cool to see Indiana Jones team up with Han Solo. Puh-Lese

Are you kidding Hellboy was brought into the world by Nazi occultists he would be perfect for an Indiana Jones comic book crossover.

There was a real cool "Star Wars/Indiana Jones" crossover story published in Star Wars Tales #19 from Dark Horse.

Here are the story pages here:

An "Indiana Jones vs Predator" crossover would be cool but I'm not sure if Lucasfilm would be into the crossover with other properties thing. Maybe if enough fans buy the new comics, it might create a buzz for Dark Horse crossovers. "Indy/Tarzan"......I'd like to see an "Indiana Jones vs. Army of Darkness/Evil Dead" mini-series....with John Bolton painted covers.

Just because Nazi's are involved doesn't make it a perfect fit.It takes more than one similarity between books.By that reasoning any book that has ever had Nazi's in it could be a potential crossover. The main sticking point to me is that Indiana Jones deals in religion/mythology while Hellboy deals in Occultism.

Now the Indiana Jones/Tarzan crossover sounds way cool.It could be done without without sacrificing anything from either of the two characters....unlike most crossovers.

I know. It sounds like it has potential, but in order to keep up with the movies, I would think the issues would have to be fairly action packed to compete.

In this case it's not just Nazis that this has going for it but also the occult.

I'm sorry, but the only Indiana Jones crossover that needs to be done is "Indiana Jones and The Rocketeer." :D

I'd like to see Dark Horse do an Indy series similar to the Star Wars series. An ongoing rather than a series of mini's. I agree with the earlier poster who said the previous Indy series were hit or miss. I'd like to see some continuity.

I'd be more excited if it wasn't such a blatant way to suck as much cash as possible out of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I suppose I'll wait for the reviews to come in, though.

If it were an ongoing I'd love a monthly Indy title but with mini-series I think I'll pass.

There was some continuity with the early issues. I know Sophie, introduced in the first mini, was also in the second one. Not a lot, I know, but it is something.

I think given the span of time between Last Crusade and Crystal Skull that there's probably a lot of room for solid, classic adventure stories that bridge the gap. I know, it might seem convenient to launch the book in conjunction with the movie but at the same time, if the book is handled well and continued beyond this first mini (or in a series of minis), it may contain some great defining stories that we can keep up with for years to come.

I'm looking forward to jumping in and giving it a try. I'm always up for new Indy.

I'm psyched for a new Indy series. I don't think an ongoing is right for Indy though. Even the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles TV series were stand-alone stories that happened to be in chronological order.

As for a crossover... I'd love to see Indy team-up with Ian Flemming's 007 (not James Bond as portrayed by any one actor- though it would be funny if Connery's Bond met Dr. Jones Sr and the elder Jones remarked "Handsome fellow, that Bond."- but rather the character in his original setting ie the Cold War era). Does anybody currently publish 007 comics? I don't think anybody has in a long time, if ever.

Dark Horse tried Bond comics like 15 years ago and they just didn't take off. I don't think it helped that the first miniseries had Bond fighting a giant snake.

I think one of the small press companies does import foreign Bond comics, though.

You know, you make a very good point. I do believe the time frame is fertile ground for enough stories to have a ton of loosely tied together (only inasmuch as the movies were) good fun adventure stories but this can be done in a series of mini's that don't have to have a consistent release schedule or deadline to keep up. Rather, when a good Indy story presents itself it can just come out.

Well, if you like Indiana Jones, I'd recommend the omnibuses for his books.

Okay, so there I was wondering when Indiana Jones Adventures Vol. 1 was supposed to come out. So I went to amazon.com to look it up. "September," it said. "What the fudge!?!" I said. So I went to darkhorse.com. "September," it said.

So... What the fudge? Does anyone know why this was pushed back? I thought it was supposed to be out in April or early May. Edit: It was July. But still, why the delay?
