Just got word that GdT, Ron, Dougie and Selma will be appearing at the New York Comic Con on April 19th, where they will be doing a panel.

I wasn't going to go...but I guess I am now.

I've never gone to a panel. How does it work? Do you need to get a pass in advance or something?

Finally, I can exercise my inner know-it-all!! :p

Generally, you don't have to have a pass in advance to show up to a panel. As long as you're there early enough and there are enough seats (which at NYCC I'd imagine there will be), you're fine.

Are there generally meet and greets or photo ops after the panel?

The last portion of the panel will probably be a Q & A. There will likely be a mic in the middle of the floor (which you would have to start lining up for earlier in the panel). Afterwards, the cast and GDT may linger in the hallway and meet people, but if it's too crazy they might not, or avoid it all together and leave by a different exit. After the 2004 Comic-Con panel for first Hellboy DVD, GDT and Ron met in the hallway with folks afterwards and signed a few things, but their popularity has gone up a bit since then (not that it wasn't a scrum even then).

There may be an autograph session at the con which may be free, but you have to snag a (free) ticket at an advance drawing to get a spot in line. As well individual stars may be signing at their own autograph sessions, but they may be charging for autographs. Any official autograph events will be advertised before the con, either by the con itself, or by Dark Horse or Universal Pictures.

It hasn't been posted yet. When it does go up it will be under "programming".

just pmed Guillermo del Toro himself on the HB2 movie forums, saying i'll be going, and that i wish to interview him and Ron Perlman for my high school newspaper. i've also asked him what he's got planned for the convention, such as swag or a new trailer. wish me luck!

I don't know about hanging out though as Selma doesn't strike me as the hanging out with fans type, if the past is any indication.

I'm in the process of checking out what the plans are. Bear with me! :D It's not up on the site yet, I know, but my sources are reliable, honest!

I hope Selma hangs out - she was extremely nice to Pat and me in Budapest and couldn't have been sweeter.
