Did anyone else notice that Dynamic Man appeared in both books, as Curt Cowen. Interestingly enough, he is not the nice guy in both.

Does this mean that all the characters in the twelve are able to be used in other company's comics? And if this is the case, will marvel try to stop them or just let it be and use some of the public domain characters availible out there as well?

from what I understand any character in the public domain can be used by anyone. Which is cool, I wouldn't mind looking into some of these characters myself or finding a list of all the characters in the public domain(comic super hero wise that is)

I just didn't realize that Dynamic Man was in Public Domain. And it is just bizzare that he appear in both book at the same time, and seems to be at the moment a jerk in both as well.

What qualifies a copyright to become public domain?

Does anyone have a pic of said cameo? Superpowers is the new Alex Ross series right? I was looking forward to getting it in tpb when I first saw the character art awhile ago, but I must be out of touch b/c I didn't even know it was out already.

Issue zero came out previously and Project Superpowers #1 came out today. So far, having read both issues, I can say that it is at least interesting and I am hoping to see what comes of future issues.

Also, calling it an Alex Ross series can be misleading. He is a plotter/scripter and is drawing the covers, but he is not really writing/drawing the books. Not to say they are not interesting, good, decent and worth your cash, but in sake of full disclosure, there it is. Issue Zero was only $1.00 and issue One had 32 pages and was $3.50.

Like I said, I was pretty intrigued when I first saw Ross's character art, but since then, I really haven't paid much attention to any of the release/series info.

I believe it is scheduled for 12 issues. I am not totally certain and well, if I were that serious I could check their website, as you could. So, I am sticking with 12 issues. ;)

Was he beating on minority suspects or putting the moves on The Fighting Yank?

Becuase if not, I refuse to believe it was the real Dynamic Man.

What I'd love to read is a story where all these public domain characters find out they're just public domain fictional characters, and they spend the whole story dreading not knowing whether they'll next be written by a genius like Alan Moore or a screw up like Daniel Way, or even Avatar in one of their porn books. I'd buy that comic book (not the porn book, the one one where this story happend).

The "Project: Superpowers" Dynamic Man is based on the character "created" by Dynamic Publications who is now public domain. This Dynamic Man was a virtual clone of the earlier one Timely created except that he became a gym teacher named Bert instead of an FBI agent named Curt and had a sidekick named Dynamic Boy.

Did Project Superpowers really need to use the same premise as Alan Moore's Tom Strong story that used the same characters? I know, they're not identical, but they're both about bringing back the golden age heroes who have almost all been kept in stasis for decades.

Interesting, so it is not technically the same character from the Twelve, the timely one, but in a sense it is. If he became a gym teacher named bert, why is he Curt in Project: Superpowers? Also did the Dynamic men have the same powers? Both seem to be non human in their make up. This is interesting. Is there a list of characters that are Public Domain with info on their backgrounds and stories on the web somewhere?

Take your pick: Dynamic Man, "the Man of the Tomorrow that never happened!" or Dynamic Man, "Messiah Complex poster boy"!

Also, it seems that "P:S" Dynamic Man is smart enough to create other robots (That's what I assume all those mooks he summoned were, the "Dynamic Family", robots based on his own design.)

I'm just lovin the fact that , Possibly the Woman in Red. Will get more "screen/page time" than she did in terra Obscura.

She's turned into a favorite of mine. trying to find many of her old issues and such.

Luckily theres a site where soem of her adventures have been posted.
